All relationships were interracial.
That's almost standard in Hollywood now. They have to completely subvert the egos and identities of young White males in their formative years to prevent a future resurgence of conservatism. Movies are a very important weapon to achieve this.

There weren't really that many minority bad guys in movies until the 70s, and that was mainly kicked off by Blaxploitation films created by ... get this ... black writers and directors (for example, Shaft). Hollywood wasn't all that integrated in film or TV until it started moving in that direction in the late 60s, and as minority actors began to get more roles, including featured roles, of course they got some of the negative roles that had always gone to white actors before that.
