Anyone disappointed?

First off, I loved the first Pitch Perfect film. It was funny, toe-tapping and simply hilarous. In fact, I rated it 9/10. But this one, nah, what can I say? This sequel was just terrible. Plenty of cringe-worthy jokes, the script was predictable, Emily and Benji's love story subplot was terrible, and Anna Kendrick's fails to deliver the goods as the female lead in this sequel. Overall, I prefer to watch the first movie again and again. This was just a failure. I rated it 4/10 since I liked the soundtrack especially the "flashlight" and the rip-off. Anyone else disappointed?

Me too. First one was a 9/10 and the second a 4/10. I could not believe how badly the scond was put together. Had no flow like the first one. I walked out of the theatre and asked for my money back.

That "Flashlight" song is bad, period. What's romantic about being linked to an inanimate object powered by batteries? Tee hee...

Honestly, the whole film was bad, but I didn't expect much from the film itself; I was counting on the music to elevate the whole thing to something worthy of a standing ovation. Pretty much every musical number in the first film was just amazing. In 2, when they "won" at the end, my first thought was: why did they win with that? It was downright boring, and even the riff off didn't have the same "wow, I need to watch that again" factor as the first one.

I hate the flashlight song! I've heard soda commercials that were better. This movie just sucked, the only part I liked was the riff off. The rest is horrible.

the movie was awesome

Yes. It was OK. It saved itself with the big number at the end, but even then it was an anti climax. But overall I felt that it nowhere near matched the original. The comedy was lacking, the music was lacking, the swedish? group thing was ridiculous. I just found the whole thing silly and boring and seriously lacking in the magic that was the first movie.

I completely agree with you. The main idea was somewhat interesting (but predictable) and I liked how they brought acapella groups from around the world, but most of the lines were so unfunny and stupid! Another thing that ruined the movie was that Spanish girl Flo. All of her lines were pointless and unfunny and she added nothing to the movie. I understand that she was probably there for comic relief but we already have Fat Amy and Lily for that. Chloe also got really annoying in the second one and I used to love her in the first movie. I hope PP3 is better than this one.

Yes, I felt utterly disappointed. I fell in love with the first movie in the first 10 mins or so, made at least 20 people watch the movie so we can watch the sequel together, but... This? I was counting the days 'till it came to the theatres, I was barely able to sit through the movie. I didn't know like half of the songs which put me off the movie terribly. I would have liked it better if they went with more popular songs like the first movie. Also didn't like Das Sound Machine, didn't like Skylar Astin doesn't have that much screen time, didn't like that the original Treblemakers weren't in, didn't like how the whole movie felt rushed.

I liked Adam Devine was in and had more screen-time, I loved the 2 speakers bickering, Elizabeth Banks is a shameless feminist and I love it.

But, yes, I was disappointed in this movie. 5/10.

there. i said it.

a little disappointed, bcoz some of the part is boring, Amy & Bumper? Its so... I dont know what to say, unnecessary? Benji & Emily? Too lame maybe? Just its song save this movie & it got 7/10. I'm too generous because I love John Michael Higgins & Elizabeth Banks, especially Higgins AKA John, he is too hilarious!

The first one was funny and pleasant. I, as a music interested 40 yo dude, would recommend it to anyone, no matter age. I liked it because it wasn't one of those typical cringe worthy music/dance movies and i've watched it several times.

But the second one became exactly one of those cringe worthy movies that seems more targeted at teeny boppers.
