Episode 8 hypocrisy

Mai out for some revenge on Ashley for Glass Bridge... and everyone turned on her forgetting Ashley refused to co-operate for several moves and lead to Trey being eliminated. Then Ashley acted holier than thou.

reply

Frankly, she was the only one who acted like she had a brain in that whole game.

That the others were duped into agreeing was moronic.

reply

It was the fact she expected the others to follow through and pass her. After not agreeing if I was then next I would have refused to go past her

reply

Ashley somehow convinced everybody that Trey continued jumping on his own. I guess everyone is blind, but Trey should've been more direct and vocal about Ashley not moving.

reply

Trey DID continue jumping on his own.

His confessional, aired just before he made his second jump, strongly implied he had something to prove to his competitive family. Seemed to me he risked two extra jumps out of some "hero complex"

It's still infuriating to me, though, that Ashley got away with gaslighting everyone.

And while it's true that Ashley didn't sign on to the "everyone takes one jump" agreement, she had NO problem taking advantage of everyone else who DID sign on to that agreement.

reply

As soon as Ashley did that I wanted her to get eliminated and rooted against her for the rest of the show. I think if I was there irl I'd protest against the 'agreement' and probably refuse to go along with it, but not in the scummy way that Ashley did.

I felt bad for Mai because Ashley deserved what she got and that whole crew of righteous jackals turned on her for dishing out the only piece of justice on the entire show.

I really hope either Mai or clean shave jesus goes on to win all that cheese.

reply

Yep ... Ashley was free to disagree, but she had no business expecting anyone to overtake her after that. She made Trey jump three times, SHE should jump three times.

'course it's easy for US to Monday-morning quarterback it -- remember the contestants were in that dorm for nearly two weeks by then, 20 minutes sunlight per day, eating boiled shit food and suffering from sleep deprivation

At least they didn't use the standard reality show gimmick of letting them get drunk

BTW ,love the "clean shave Jesus" nickname, especially since he really did seem like sweet-natured but still smart

reply

She went on in the next ep to gaslight Mai, trying to convince Mai she hadn't seen it clearly. And as Mai walked away Ashley seemed so proud of herself but we could see Mai's expression and hadn't bought it.

reply

yeah they all saw the same as us but are such a bunch of fakes, they all supported Ashley despite knowing she's trash. none of them had the balls to stand up to her

reply

Poor stupid Trey. I was like: "Dude, don't jump. Don't be so stupid. You did your part".

He was caught in a moment. But what the hell was he thinking? To jump up every spot till the end. Of course he fell eventually.

What he should have done is to say to Ashley that : "Fine. We will all stay here until time runs out and we will be eliminated if you want to cheat".

That was actually brilliant decision that everyone will jump one time. Otherwise challenge is just stupid. Whats the point first few to jump to secure win for others when they themselves would not have a single chance to jump safe everything, They could just refuse and stay still.

I also like how they came up with idea to put hands in their pockets when running in first challenge. Many players were doing it. I guess they decided it was easier to hide hands then have them shaking.

reply

I liked Trey but he was always too soft to win

the idiot backed down to Ashley and gave it all away because he couldn't stand up for himself.

he took his (presumably) overbearing mother on the show.

he totally fell for figgy's fake charm and started pining over her when she probably didn't even know his name, the way she started asking for votes to boot someone out of her line made me sick, especially after all the fake positivity she tried to project prior to that. after that moment I rooted so hard against her toxic duplicitous ass.

he's another unfortunate example of how in real life nice guys do finish last, which is why so many people are lying ruthless frauds.

reply

Yes. It actually could be truth that he could not stand up for himself. He turned at her to do her part. And she stayed there and refused. And he didn't know what to do and how to make her so he jumped. Was lucky. And again she refused to go. So he jumped again and eliminated himself.

He really should have just stay there still and say: "Your turn. No? Then we will all stay here until time runs out and we will all be eliminated. No cheating is allowed".

reply

That was the most infuriating part of the show, Ashley standing there on the bridge while everyone else went infront of her, and she never moved until others made it safe for her, she never took a chance on that bridge. Yet when Mai calls her out for it the others act as if Mai has betrayed a loyal teammate and should be shunned. Was they all fucking blind and oblivious to how Ashley stood there on the bridge like a coward while everyone else risked elimination?

Then Ashley acted like she was in the right and in glee that everyone was taking her side. I wish i could have saw Ashley's face when she found out Mai won the whole thing, i'd pay to see that.

reply

Ashley did make ONE jump, but she stopped there ... AFTER having let Trey make three

So yeah she didn't agree to the strategy, until suddenly SHE was out front

reply

Yeah she made the one jump, then refused to take any further risk while everyone else took them for her and gave her a free pass. Then she has the audacity to act as if shes a big loyal team player the next game and Mai is a terrible person who isn't a team player cause she chose to pick Ashley for potential elimination.

I will say Mai should've explained into more detail why she chose Ashley in the next game, feels like she didn't really elaborate on exactly why she chose her that well. But the others should've known if they wasn't blind.
