Samuel L Jackson and his lisp

Was the most annoying thing about the entire movie. His character sucked and his annoying lisp voice was brutal to listen to. I truly enjoyed it all besides his character. WHY OH WHY does he continue to get cast for every other movie in existence??

Don't get me wrong, I like some of his older films, but enough is enough. He is way overused in the industry for roles he should have absolutely no part of.

I thought it was hilarious! Everytime he spoke in this movie I was dying, Mainly because I know that's not how he really talks.

You said everything I wanted to say. I fact, I'm only halfway through this movie but paused it to come here and complain. We see way too much SLJ in way too many movies. Now him in those ridiculous colors with that crooked hat and that irritating lisp, he's nearly unbearable. And while I'm on the subject... why does he shill for that crappy Capital One bank? The bank seemingly anyone can get a credit card from. Maybe he'll redeem himself here.. but I doubt it.

Wow you two are hard to please. How could you not laugh when he mentioned how the British talk funny?

Yes...This movie would have been super good had it not been for 2 things.. The whole anal thing at the end (seemed very crude considering manners maketh the man), and SLJ role. I know they had to have a protagonist, but the lisp and his attitude was just not believable in the least. He was supposed to be a genius from MIT, yet he talked like he lived in the projects from Detroit. If he was so smart and rich because of his intelligence, surely his vocabulary would have improved some since the 6th grade. His character ruined the whole movie in my opinion, and I used to think he was a good actor, but he really only had 2 characters...and it's either ghetto as hell....or just talking his lines with no emotion what so ever....that's it.

I think, since this was a dark comedy, they wanted a villain that was on-par with someone like the Joker: funny, difficult to take seriously, but very dangerous all the same. I think Samuel himself came up with the caricatures and the movie-makers loved it. I think they made him annoying on purpose, to distract the audience and not take him seriously until he really did put the world in danger.

He was out of place to me. Not always terrible but an ill fit. Entirely different than the comic.

In the comic book, he is a white guy with no lisp that has a bad habit of trying to give nicknames to all of his henchmen (a habit that hurts many of their feelings, lol)
