If it was Christmastime 5 years after the events of part 2, why does Mia say to Sienna something to the effect ‘it is coming up on the 5th anniversary’ when asking her to do her podcast? Would the previous Halloween not have been the 5th anniversary already?

The writers just made an error. A possible kayfabe explanation is Sienna just misspoke
Interesting. Yeah, from imdb:
“Mia mentions the 5 year anniversary of the original massacre was coming up soon, but it took place on Halloween, and this movie taking place on Christmas 5 years later would mean the anniversary had just passed 2 months ago.”
I was trying to figure out if Mia was referencing a trial (that would have cleared Sienna after Johnathan’s testimony) or what.
So strange that wouldn’t have been caught in the process of making the movie, from everyone reading the line in the script down to shooting that scene.

They could be going by general year rather than by date. Say, if the previous incident was 2020, then during Christmastime 2024 you could say "it's coming up on the 5th anniversary" because soon it will be 2025.
