None of these movies are scary unless you are grossed out by gore.
shareFirst one had some scary moments because Art the Clown was so unknown and mysterious. Part 2 and 3 aren’t scary: they are more thrillers or suspense than horror. Art does a ton of comedic stuff in Parts 2 & 3

No, I think it can be scary if the gore done right and looks realistic enough. And at times it did. I winced right away as Art went to town hacking off limbs like lumberjack. Btw, this movie must be the goriest Christmas-themed film I ever seen!!! Beats any old school films for sure. Some scenes looked good (gore-wise) and some like the rats scene didn’t work for me (looked fake). And . Oh. Those crunching sound effects were damn good (at the cinema— it was loud). I wonder if Savini was giving some pointers to director since he’s a makeupfx wizard. Sadly his role was so small though.
