I think they really did not read the book or watch the series.
There were no actual female warriors in the series. There was a maid that got in some back stabby time before she was killed by Toranaga. Mariko waved a spear around ineffectually in a few scenes, but that was about it. Mariko was a wife, mother and translator, meh. share
