Really?

One of the advertising blurbs for this series says "Original series"
Liars!
This was already done starring Richard Chamberlin!
REAL original!

and do you really think they will be the same? if you watched the trailer you probably noticed the "strong female lead"

reply

You're being overly literal. Original has more than one usage. In this context, they mean "a series we produced, in house," as opposed to something produced by someone else, that they simply bought the rights to show.

It's a well-understood, and long-used term in the entertainment industry.

Maybe, but in this day and age, Hollywood seems to be unoriginal and so they go back to the well for ideas instead of something original.
Shogun with Richard Chamberlin all those years ago is an epic masterpiece and had the greatest Asian actor whoever lived - Toshiro Mifune!

The origiinal was printed on dead trees. 1980 version has an Imdb rating of 8.1 compared to 9+ for this one.

That type of marketing has been done since the '76 King Kong remake which billed it as the 'most exciting original motion picture' at the time.

reply

That's true. And 76 Kong was, in my opinion, A waste of film.

It means it's a FX original series, you fucking moron. You've never seen "A Netflix original"?

reply

You're technically correct, the best kind of correct, but let's settle down.

Netflix or FX can say whatever they want in marketing one of their products, but the point of fact is they are lying when using the word "original".
And shouting obscenities at someone for expressing an opinion says more about you than it does about me.
