Who will win?

Will you watch it? Who do you support? And who will win?

reply

Angelina from Italy

reply

I hope Sweden will be last, or even better, disqualified!

reply

What happened? I heard The NetherHollandlands have been disqualified, but I don’t know why 🤷‍♂️

reply

After his performance on Thursday, a female crew member began stalking him with her phone despite an agreement not to film him. After telling her multiple times to leave him alone and her refusing, he pushed her phone away. I know, a capital crime...

reply

Oh boy.

I hear Ireland are moaning about something too.

Jeez! Just sing the songs already!

reply

Leave your politics at home. If you don't like Israel participating, then why did you even sign up?

reply

They reported here about disqualified Joost Klein (Netherlands) that it was a camerawoman and he threatened her with words and/or gestures, but didn't touch her.
Well, the disqualification was too harsh, that's also my opinion.

Secretly I was relieved...and certainly many Frisians were too. ☺

reply

I think we (the Netherlands) should withdraw from Eurovision and never take part again.

reply

Oops, why?

reply

Because it's become utterly ridiculous

reply

I don't give a shit.

All the song's this year sound crap.

reply

I haven’t heard any of them. I’ve not really followed it in a loooong time.

reply

My vote goes to Israel. 🇮🇱
Eden Golan is cute, has a great voice and good stage presence.
I miss the stage presence a bit in our contribution (Germany).

Eden Golan is Russian-Israeli with an Ukrainian mother and a Latvian father.
The young Lady is an international 'production'! ♥
She has more on her pretty mind than only music and doesn't sing about the Golan Heights.
Yah, life is no game...nothing is just black and white...and boys are also allowed to cry.
So, Israel, let's go! 🇮🇱 👍🏽

reply

Eden Golan is Russian-Israeli with an Ukrainian mother and a Latvian father.

Wow. That's interesting. She must be quite a conflicted individual...

reply

The only conflict in this contest is you.

reply

Er, sorry to disappoint you but I'm not taking part this year 👍.

reply

You conflict would've been disqualified anyway. 👍🏽

reply

You conflict would've been disqualified anyway. 👍🏽

🤔 I've literally no idea what you're trying to say there. Re-read it and try again...

Anyway, I guess you meant to be insulting but there really wasn't any need. I genuinely found what you said interesting.

If she has a Ukrainian mother she must be really upset about foreign nations going into people's homelands and killing people. And yet she is representing Israel and presumably has an understanding of their barbaric actions in Gaza and the West Bank. So at some level, she must either be conflicted or a complete moron...

... However, given that she's a Eurovision contestant, perhaps the later is a distinct possibility! 😂

Once again though, thank you 👍🏼

reply

"Re-read it and try again..."

Re-read and try again yourself.
And spare me your hypocritical worries.

In other words: Fuck off, dearest.

Israel, let's go! 🇮🇱 👍🏽

reply

LOL, what "hypocritical worries"?

You've lost the plot here I'm afraid pal...

Again, there was no need for your nastiness. I thought what you wrote was genuinely interesting. And it was about the Israeli contestant's family background.

Now, I know you're pro-Israel and have no appreciation of my moral dilemma (even although any learned human being surely should be able to conceptually understand someone else may have worries over others' beliefs that they do not share - e.g. I'm not vegetarian but I can understand the morality of those who do) but seriously, WTF does that have to do with this woman's family in order to make me hypocritical?!! 😂

Do you know what that word means?

reply

You lost your moral compass.
And I'm certainly not your "pal".

Israel, let's go! 🇮🇱 👍🏽

reply

No way! You don't worm off that easily - let's here this explanation of "hypocrisy"...

😂 Absolutely dying to hear you prove you're not a complete moron.

And you're absolute correct. Someone who's so eager to sweep people getting slaughtered under the carpet with crappy diversionary excuses is no friend of mine...

reply

I proved YOU're a "MORON" in your own thread.
Here's the link again, in case you even missed that one. 🙄

Israel, let's go! 🇮🇱 👍🏽

reply

LOL. I honestly don't understand why you think there's any value in linking to another thread which equally showcases your complete lack of understanding...

Anyway, anyone looking at your replies there and the simple fact that you have clearly shown that you do not know what the word "hypocrisy" means on this thread is good enough for me this time.

I'm sure you see fit to spurge some more garbage but that's enough for me... Good day to you Sir 👍🏼

reply

LOL LOL LOL 🥱
Go ahead and write more bs.
You do it so well that even Andy (the little king) needed to babble here.

Israel, let's go! 🇮🇱 👍🏽

reply

Israel are currently 2nd favourites with the bookies at 16/5 (Croatia are the favourites).

reply

Still a few mins left for a bet.
I put EUR 50 on Israel. 🇮🇱 👍🏽
You bet on Croatia? ☺

reply

Sorry...votes are done.
Rien ne va plus!

reply

I’ve just finished watching Match of the Day and have turned over in time for the public vote.

No bets from me; who will win?

reply

Switzerland won!!! 🇨🇭

reply

Well done to them.

reply

No reliance on the bookmakers and me. 😳
If I understood correctly, Israel won the audience vote, definitely in Germany.

reply

No, Croatia just pipped them in the audience vote.

reply

Yah, but Croatia had more jury points before. Just looked for a result list distinguishing audience and jury votes, but currently only find the overall results.

reply

Ahhh, here the results in detail.
https://eurovisionworld.com/esc/nemo-from-switzerland-wins-the-eurovision-song-contest-2024

You're right, Croatia won most of the audience votes.
Croatia: Audience 337 - Jury 210
Israel: Audience 323 - Jury 52

Hmmm, hmmm. 😎

reply

If Australia and Israel can participate, why not the US and Canada?

reply

File a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice.
I'm looking forward to the verdict. 🍿

reply

I don't think the Americans and Canadians give a hoot. 🤣 I don't mind that Australia and Israel are in it. I'm just wondering on what grounds they are? Surely it can't be geography. 🤔 Cultural/ancestral ties to Europe? So do the US and Canada have. Then you might as well throw in the Latin American countries too for measure.

reply

Australia was a special invite from Austria.
For all others:

reply

They haven't asked, to my knowledge

reply

The UK got zero points from the public, lol.

reply

Deserved. It was a non-entity.

reply

I didn’t hear any of the songs, so I’ve no idea.

reply

Switzerland 🇨🇭

reply

An anti-semite who doesn't know whether he's a man or a woman. Congratulations, Europe.🇪🇺

reply

He didn't actually win the public vote. The juries got him to win.

But what does that have to do with the musicality of the performance?

reply

>But what does that have to do with the musicality of the performance?

You should've asked him that question when he wanted Israel to be excluded from the competition. Have a nice day!🍆🍆🍆

reply

The juries (who gave him the victory really) don't consider public statements by artists when evaluating their performances.

reply

That's a hilariously naive comment. Another nice troll move. Have a nice day, Fred.🍆🍆🍆

reply

You're suggesting the juries gave them points purely because of how their public statements? Then why didn't Ireland do much better in the jury vote?

reply

"You're suggesting the juries gave them points purely because of how their public statements?"

Complete lack of reading comprehension skills on your part again. But that's to be expected. Now again, have a nice, Davros.🍆🍆🍆

reply

So what were you suggesting when you said I was naive then? What was I naive about? I said: "The juries (who gave him the victory really) don't consider public statements by artists when evaluating their performances."

You think that's "naive" as if you were suggesting that judges *do* consider public statements by artists when evaluating their music.

reply

That's certainly a different phrasing than you used previously.

Now please go out and have a nice day. Maybe a walk in the park with your friend Melton.🍆🍆🍆

reply

I will try again:

Wow...just wow...

Have a nice having nonsense discussions with someone else, D-feet.🍆🍆🍆

reply

Sorry to ask you now, you're already annoyed.
Do you've a source that Nemo (CH) wanted Israel's exclusion?
Totally missed that 'little detail' and don't find something about it.
The Irish wannabe witch wanted Israel to be excluded, maybe a confusion?

reply

No different than the anti-semites from Ireland and Greece:
https://eurovisionfun.com/en/2024/05/israel-stylist-kicked-out-of-eurovision-venue-for-filming-contestant/

I think there was even more, but it's difficult to find right now. A lot of countries were whining and complaining about Israel being included. Even Joost made a dig at Israel at the press conference.

reply

Yah, it's plastered everywhere with the winner-news.
I only found one article (two days old) what said that Nemo is a Gaza-protester but did NOT want Israel's exclusion.
However, closer analyses I'll do after some sleep.
The jury votes are...how to put it...interesting.
Especially the huge difference audience/jury for Israel is amazing. ☻
https://eurovisionworld.com/esc/nemo-from-switzerland-wins-the-eurovision-song-contest-2024

Btw. winner Nemo lives in Berlin...just saying. 😬

reply

These countries were trying to make it impossible for Israel to compete, it would be hypocritical to claim they didn't want it to be excluded.

What a shame, I always liked Berlin.

reply

You'll like Berlin even more when some people move.
Because they'll no longer get lucrative contracts here. 😉
But as said, closer analyses necessary.

reply

I mean, it's fairly obvious that there was a co-ordinated effort by Israeli supporters to vote for the Israeli entry across Europe. The song was not widely regarded as being anywhere near the favourite. It is, and was regarded as a suitably average pop song. But suddenly a social media campaign, and I saw the many adverts, encouraging people to spam-vote for Israel popped up.

The vote tally for Israel was massively inflated due to a small bloc of voters, relatively speaking, repeatedly voting for them.

reply

And your answer shows, how differently you can evaluate numbers. ☺

reply

My in-depth analysis is far from finished.
Leastwise the German jury (5 artists) is exonerated:

Well, of course it's always a matter of personal taste too.
The invisible male commentator here said about Nemo (CH) that it sounds like a cross between Queen's Bohemian Rapsody and a James-Bond-tune.
To me it sounded in longer parts like "Cabaret".
And sorry Croatia, while it was a very good performance of your Baby Lasagna, it appeared like soft-washed Rammstein to me.
I'm a huge Rammstein fan! ♥

However, for me the ESC is still a competition for (old-fashioned) pop music and not a platform for rainbow warriors, rappers, soft rockers and talented strippers.
Yah, maybe I just become old. 😳

I'm still glad that Conchita Wurst is Austrian and not German though. ☺

reply

>However, for me the ESC is still a competition for (old-fashioned) pop music and not a platform for rainbow warriors, rappers, soft rockers and talented strippers.

Eurovision has been a very LGBT-fest and sexualised for well over a decade now. Rock/metal entries tend to do very well, in part because there aren't usually that many of them so all the rock/metal fans have only a small number to choose from. Rap usually does awful at Eurovision - I mean straight rap anyway. You can have a bit in your song.
