Belushi
His portrayal in this film as a silent, brooding, knuckle-dragging gorilla is ridiculous. This wasn't the worst attempt I can imagine to capture the mayhem of an early SNL production, but not one of the original SNL cast is shown as a real human being. The filmmakers took a single stereotype of each player and cranked the volume to 11 on that one trait. For Belushi, I think they gave us a low budget Bluto Blutarsky more than the real man. Not a very compelling approach, so far as the main characters are concerned at least.
