The Trailer. The Verdict.
Oh dear.
Then again, sometimes a bad trailer doesn't signal a bad movie. Let's hope.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes *beep* yes. Better be good after that. Couldn't care less about iambic pentameter the important thing is everyone is back together and i'm ready for a trip down nostalgia lane with all the other 40+ers :)
What's so bad about it? Look, Trainspotting is a classic, so a sequel has its work cut out for it in terms of surpassing it, but I think it looks good. I think each of the actors look so natural reprising their roles. It's a silly thing to praise, but sometimes something just feels off when actors reprise iconic roles after 20 years (i.e. Carrey and Daniels in Dumb and Dumber To).
I didn't catch too many references to the original. The updated "Choose Life" monologue was very good, I loved the "Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram" bit. I did enjoy the subtle nod in the end with Renton laughing as he's nearly hit by the car.

I thought the trailer looked great.
Sure had some bits to remind you of the first movie. I had to do the Renton laugh at the end of this trailer to bring back the original laugh from the first movie after being hit by the car.
Awww I cannot wait to see this. Will be interesting if Sickboy and Begbie get over what Renton did, or what they do for paybacks.
Just brings me all back to when the first movie came out. Loved that movie.
((Damn the remakes, Save the originals.))
Yeah....its just nostalgia porn. Updating the choose life speech, all the same characters, basically copying so many scenes from the first film. The whole trailer is just a lot of "oh i remember that character/scene from the first film!"
A really brave film would have these characters actually grow up, leading relatively normal lives, without doing crime/drugs/going to clubs still...
Lets be honest, the first Trainspotting had a magic that cannot be replicated, even with the same director/actors.

I would rather see Sick Boy running a club than a bar for one.

That trailer was NOT bad. I only didn't like when they made Renton's new "choose life" voiceover appear as if it was coming directly from his mouth onscreen as opposed to , yknow, obviously BEING a voiceover.
Danny Boyle's got an inconsistent track record, but to find him returning to this story after successful films tells me he's at least signed in for the right reasons.
In what way was the trailer in any way bad? Some people just love a moan.
