I watched: it’s OK

The movie is an easy watch. The movie flows smoothly, and McAvoy gives a credible performance. I like the setting and concept.

The movie isn’t some masterpiece though. There are several flaws. The movie isn’t scary. Though McAvoy is credible and did well with what he was given, I don’t think character ever struck fear in the viewer (I don’t fault McAvoy more than I fault the writing for that mishap). The other issue is that the movie takes the straight and predictable path all the way to the end. I feel that a twist or unexpected outcome might’ve added a little pizzazz. Finally, I don’t like the decision to make Scoot McNairy’s character so emasculated; his wife takes charge throughout the whole film.
