This is the worst movie...

I have ever seen. Cliffhanger was better.

I do enjoy it when an obvious troll post gets page after page after page of responses which go on for months or years. I don't see how people can fall for this type of thing when it's so obvious. 

This isn't the worst movie ever but it failed to move me at all. There is something missing and I'm not quite sure what it is. I don't know if Cliffhanger is "better" but it's definitely more enjoyable (to me).

Maybe not the worst, but let's face it bad enough. Everlast would be a better title. Lumbering and boring. I didn't care what happens or to whom. I just waited for it to be over. And the meanwhile back at the home front scenes are so terrible. No emotional investment, no sense of atmosphere. It really leaves one cold.

I actually do agree with you on just about all of these points.

I thought the movie sucked too, not the worst ever but it was a poor movie.

Because of the cast I was expecting to be blown away by a powerfully delivered tragic event, but there was nothing powerful about this at all.

I didn't think it was a "bad" movie, but it was surprisingly disappointing, given what a powerful story it is drawn from, and the resources available to make it. You're right, there is something missing, but I can't quite nail down what that something is. The film ought to have been a masterpiece, and yet was surprisingly unengaging. Not bad, just so-so. The characters were pretty one-dimensional.

A parallel that comes to mind is the 1971 film Nicholas and Alexandra. That was another film that ought to have been a masterpiece - with a strong cast, a gripping, though tragic, story, and the masterful cinematography of Freddie Young (who won three Oscars for his films directed by David Lean) - and yet, while it was good, it just wasn't great, and it's that "something missing" again.

I'm no movie critic so can't zero in on what would have made the difference, and it may not have been the same thing in each case, but usually when a film is just average there are several weak areas one can point to. I can't zero in on it/them in either of these films, but the outcome is the same. A sense of "if only....."

If you think this is the worst movie, I guess you haven't seen too many movies, and the three or four you have seen were all the highest rated films in their particular genres, with the exception of Cliffhanger, which you thinking was a better film, and by your comparison you are considering the same type, says a lot.
