cocaine is way over rated as a "nasty" life wrecking drug.
i have used it..its great for parties, and makes you feel great..where is the downside? i think all that crap is made up to be honest

I'm not arguing they can't be great. But not everyone can handle every drug. I've seen lives ruined over alcohol, coke, crank, heroin, pills, even weed... But I've also known people who go balls to the wall and keep it together.

shareDifferent brain features, chemistry, neurotransmitters balances(or inbalances)... Some people(probably a very small minority) can use cocaine in a 'safe' recreational way, without addiction. Most don´t. It´s a russian roulette(with very bad odds). You can´t really know what´s your case, before trying it a few times.
shareThe risk of becoming addicted to coke is minimal. Apparently 5-6% of users will become addicted after 2 years of use. Risk of addiction also depends on the method of use, lower if snorting, higher if injecting.
Moderation is the key.

shareI am not defending them nor will I trash them but there is something to be said about legalizing drugs. People would be able to get them without all the crime associated. There would be bars that allowed them, there would be more treatment for those who cant handle them. We spend Billions on the war on drugs. Why not have the drugs pay for the problems that come with them and end all the violence that comes with illegal drugs.
shareThe problem with legalising all drugs like heroin and cocaine is people get addicted and need it all the time. Unemployment would go through the roof as people wouldn't go to work or would be too high to work then the fact drugs are expensive and addicts couldn't keep a job would mean robbery and violence would also rapidly increase as they need money to feed the habit.
Amsterdam works as it's only cannabis, some people assume all drugs are legal in Amsterdam so think legalising all drugs would work.
One of the fallacies is that by legalizing drugs that crime would drop. It would simply shift to other activities. The same way organized crime at the end of prohibition shifted to other illegal activities. These are not people who will go from illegal drug activity to a 9 to 5 job.
More recently, look at what's occurred with Loyalist Paramilitaries in Northern Ireland. With the end of the "troubles" some groups shifted to drug dealing.
Someone I know that was involved in prosecuting organized crime in NY once told me "these guys would rather steal a nickle than earn a dollar legitimately."
