It's too bad that Ron Perlman is too old to reprise the role. As much as I like David Harbour, he was not Hellboy. Jack Kesey doesn't impress me much either.

We don't even need a new Hellboy. If you go and rewatch Hellboy 2004 the effects look just as good as today's CGI, combined with animatronics which are never used at all anymore. Plus Ron Perlman.
Why even make a new Hellboy? 20 years later and the original still looks great. The last 20 years of Hollywood has been a steady decline, anyway. CGI went from being used sparingly to total and complete excess. Everything keeps getting worse, everything's a remake. That's why they're making new Hellboys: It's a cash grab.
