Is the biggest laughingstock the CW has ever produced. Every time I see her face turn dour and try to look menacing makes me think I'm looking at a high school girl who's mad she can't go to the prom. It takes me right out of the show. Virtually anybody on the show; male or female could crush her with one blow.

Buffy was the chosen one and had supernatural powers so her strength made sense. Octavia is a skinny child who lived under the floor her entire life so should be even weaker than your average skinny girl. They've only been on the ground about 1 month to be even remotely good at martial arts takes years so the OP is right the idea of Octavia beating grown men or women who have trained their whole life AND lived a very physically demanding life is ridiculous.

Buffy was never on the CW and she was supernaturally powered. I do remember the episode where she temporarily lost her powers and realistically was manhandled by an ordinary dude.

Remember when she walked in on him in the tent, and he went all "go away little girl, you're not worth my blade." And he when on eating till he discovered a bit too late that she had shoved a long needle into his ear while he was busy dismissing her as a non-threat?
One thing I learned: Don't let a person's small size fool you, especially if that person uses his or her small size to his/her advantage. Never underestimate your enemy. But the ambassador did exactly that and you are too.
I'll give you an example: I was tussling with this little kid. I was eleven, he was 5 or 6. Of course, being the big kid, I always put him on his back on the ground.
But like you, I didn't think the little fellow could really hurt me until he suddenly jumped up, and moving much faster than me, punched me in the mouth and gave me a busted lip. And it hurt a lot. Of course, since I was so much bigger than him, I didn't take him seriously until he took advantage of my arrogance and actually managed to land a successful punch.
You see I have no problem with what Octavia did there. Even a small kid can inflict harm or a fatal bow with a sharp blade; especially when not perceived as a threat. It's when she goes Mano a mano with guys that outweigh her by 100 pounds that makes me cringe. Now the chick that is the right arm of the King looks like a worthy opponent. Speed and skill can be attributes but not when you physically weigh less than a scarecrow.
shareYes, of course the OP is right. Its ridiculous whenever a woman beats up a grown man in a fair fight. Hollywood seems to love to do this recently and its absurd. That's the whole reason why men aren't supposed to hit women, because a woman has no chance against a man. Beating up a woman is like beating up a child.

Well shows like this show that mentally challenged people or physically disabled people can contribute something in post apocalyptic society which in reality they cant.
Most of the people would be dead in first week. But then what would be the show about....no agenda, nothing.
Agreed!!! Octavia is the mother of cliches, if she wasn't on the show I wouldn't know it was a CW production she drags down the show's quality everytime she opens her mouth.
