Canceled :(
Really hope another network picks this up..!!!
shareits Fuc...errr Fox, they are not loyal to any of their shows, unless its the crapality ones, in fact it should be a federal law , fox cant produce or make any really good scifi shows...Hell they might as well cancel Gotham right now.Save us all from getting to like a show.
shareI swear all that is holy I *beep* hate Fox I only stopped watching the show because I can't *beep* stand commercials and was hoping to watch the first season on DVD/Blu-Ray! *beep* you Fox!
shareIt was a decent show and it's a shame it got cancelled, but don't put it along the brilliant Dead Like Me and definitely not along Firefly.
In my opinion, it just had too much production value for being only pretty good, not one of the greats.

Karl Urban is one of my favorite actors and the only reason I watched it. What this show lacked was a reason to go on. The main plot was him hunting down a terrorist organization that got his leg blown off, they rarely covered this at all and it was just one random episode into another. Its also a sci fi show..so hunting a terrorist group isn't exactly compelling television for its genre.
All that being said I still liked it more than a lot of shows out there that keep getting renewed.
There was lots of potential but the show failed because it didn't pursue larger plot threads quickly enough. The tech-crime of the week approach damaged viewing figures and by the time it shifted gears it was already too late. I don't know why they didn't pursue long term plot threads sooner. Self contained episodes are so last century (the idea of the new viewers needing to be able to jump in on any episode is redundant in the modern age of on demand/torrent access).
Sadly these days shows don't tend to get a second chance. It should be noted this isn't the first cyber-buddy-cop show either and not the first to be axed after one season. Perhaps the general public still isn't ready. Personally, aside from the slightly dodgy music, I really enjoyed the show.

No one has mentioned Stargate:Universe, which I loved (I know die hard SG fans were decidedly mixed), but I loved the far-horizon story, (the ship), mixed with episodes that advanced the characters or other subplots. I get tired of the 'wrap it all neatly in one episode' method.
I thought Almost Human had a lot of potential, the chemistry was great, and there were some interesting, (and classic), sci-fi themes they touched on, but it was a little frustrating that they didn't pick up the main storyline sooner; I wonder if Abrams doing the Star Wars reboot affected the decision to continue the show or not. It was definitely good enough, (I thought), to see another season. I'm glad Fox is a non-cable channel that gives shows like this a chance, (and Firefly), but get really annoyed they give them short shrift, and yet seem to have no problem offering shows in other genres more of a chance.
What's even MORE frustrating is HULU no longer has the season up - so I can't even go back and watch it when I get the jones to, and there is a different 'Almost Human' series listed. Grr....
They were pretty smart about Stargate:Universe too, giving themselves plenty of space to have older looking characters when they eventually got to return. I always thought it seemed like they would be working towards a movie or something down the road to finish it off. No such luck though, instead were left with an unconcluded chapter in the Stargate story and with the rumours of a movie reboot the whole thing seems to be dead in the water (or adrift in the infinite void). Shame.

How do you know a science fiction program is really good and should be on the air for years to come?
Because the networks cancelled it, that's how!
If it does not continue, we and the network are big losers. It was my favorite series.
shareAm I the only one who was not surprised by this? It just wasn't a good or interesting show, I stopped watching after two episodes.
Gutted. Really going to miss this one, had such potential in scope, could have been amazing based on the quality so far. Garrrrrrrgghhhhh
shareIf its so bad and you stopped watching it after two episodes how come you are trolling in the message boards of a show you didnt care about in your free time??? rhetorical question your a tardhatch
aww someone doesnt have any friends...:(
Which is why more and more people stopped watching TV. I binge watch and not when it is on. Its been almost 2 decades since I watch shows in the evening. Not only canceling them but moving days and times, just got fed up with it. And the networks wonder why their ratings are dying. They have no respect for the viewer, why should the viewer bother.
