Josie Davis (the teacher)... LOLLL *wayyyy* too attractive for Danny.

Danny wasn't ugly but no where near stand out good looking, it was laughable that someone as unattainable and attractive as Josie Davis would obsess over someone so incredibly mediocre.

At the end, the equally average looking girlfriend who wouldn't put out dogged Josie for being "an old pathetic woman"... how hysterically funny she would say something so ridiculously farther from reality, Josie is SMOKING HOT at 40, and girls half her ago have NOTHING on her...

Sexy ass Josie Davis, on that list of ladies I totally would date... me, a straight girl who would make an exception with... <3

reply

Agreed that Josie Davis is hot, but Danny is totally smokin' hot, too.

The girlfriend... meh.

I guess tastes really do differ, I was wondering why they didn't cast someone younger and or hotter than Josie for the role. The two teens were attractive enough but I was surprised when I saw that Ms. Davis was only 40, she looks very worn to me.

Already, I have found two pieces of rare beauty. I am most grateful.

I just made a thread about the old lady comment. In the movie Josie Davis can pass for mid thirties and even 40 is not old and she was way prettier than that tween plain jane who will be that age before she knows it and really look like *beep*

I took Josie Davis to be mid thirties. Not even 40. Either way I thought the young girl was plain and I would never call anyone old knowing the time is clicking for me and nobody escapes aging, unless you want to die before 30 and btw, I thought the boy was way too hot for his girl friend. His girl friend looked like a plain little girl. I mean for almost 18 she had no boobs, no figure and a face like a plain 13 year old. The only thing that was nice was her hair. They should of had Katie Gill play the girl friend. At least she is pretty and does not look like a plain jane. It would be ridiculous to have anyone younger play the part of the teacher. We all been in high school and to see a teacher even remotely as attractive as Josie is a far stretch and Josie looked 30s to me.

And when Jamie said sorry for missing their anniversary, and said she'd make it up she screamed STOP when her boy friend tried to make love. If she is suspecting him of cheating , that's going to make it worse. And the guy was cute but not all that and neither was the young girl all that

Ok, you guys, I mean this with all due respect, but your logic couldn't be more off (I'm guessing that you're on the young/er side??):

Women (and men for that matter, albeit perhaps for different reasons) generally don't sleep with children, based on how physically attractive they are (and I say "children" because while the age of consent might technically be 17 in most states, the age difference itself is reason enough to cause concern. Furthermore (and actually disurbing, as opposed to being just a cause than a 17/18 yr old having sex with a 40 yr old) is when there is a major power differential between even two consenting adults (eg doctor/patient, boss/employee). Doctors have had their licenses suspended or even revoked, if they engage in a sexual relationship with his/her patients. It's his/her responsibilty as the person in authority to not abuse that power, even if the patient (or whomever) did a striptease on his desk. So in a way, it's perhaps more egregious when this happens with to a teenager - EVEN one who is already 18.

Women like “Molly” (Josie Davis’ character) seek out specific sexual partners for dozens of reasons other than his/her physical attractiveness. They need (and/or want) unconditional love (something we see in flashbacks that Molly never got from her abusive mother) and that’s easier to get with a child or teenager, ESP if you’re in a power position over that (so in this case, who knows why she targeted Danny – perhaps something about his ‘essence’ reminded her of her mother). And I'm sure she probably was “attracted” to him, but if it hadn't been him, it would've been another boy

The main point is that Molly is looking for that unconditional love she never got as a child, so obviously, she’s incapable of having a healthy relationship with an age-appropiate man (though by Danny breaking up with her, we did see that developmentally, he was quite healthy and probably ahead of some of his other male peers). So when you say she can do “better” than Danny, she’s the one who can't have a healthy relationship with an age-appropriate man - so it's more like HE could do better!! She's an absolute WRECK, so while she might be able to pick up a handsome and successful man in a bar, she is incapable of having a relationship with such a man - that is, if he’s mentally healthy.

I gotta figure that was either written by a 13 year-old girl or maybe a 12 year-old boy.

You DO understand that this is not reality, don't you.

Are you referring to me?

Because while this movie wasn't based on a specific news story, in the past decade of so, we've seen quite a rise in sexual abuse cases that involve women teachers and male students.

Ok, think about it. When you were that age (17 or 18), 30 and up was old PERIOD. That is just how kids think at that age.

reply

School is different than real life. The exacting level up hierarchy in school kinda tricks the mind into magnifying the importance of each subsequent year removed even more than physical/mental development naturally would. In real life people have great difficulty guessing the ages of prospective partners so it isn't really much concern.

"what is your major malfunction?!!"

reply

LOL no. The teacher looked like that cat lady Jocelyn Wildenstein.

Allll you sucka MCs ain't got nothing on me!

Teacher was smoking hot from the neck down (her face looked overdone nice eyes tho). The "average" looking girlfriend is WAY prettier than the teacher....body not as nice but she has time.

The work on the face was a little obvious but not half as obvious as a lot of actresses in Hollywood. IMO the average girl friend was not way prettier, she was so plain and when she reaches Josie's age and still wants to work in Hollywood, I am sure she'll have work done.

reply

I agree with you that Danny was nothing to get your panties wet over-not to mention he was a jerk with not much personality... But Jamie was VERY pretty and I think she only dissed Josie to get the confession. Josie also ruined Jamie's life for a bit oh yeah and she KILLED SOMEONE!

Josie Davis is interesting looking and yes attractive but she is very Botox-ed and collagen-ed and you can tell.

Her character in the movie was *supposed* to be pathetic and dis-likeable and Jamie's comments there are spot on- what, was she supposed to get off scott-free? No, you're supposed to dislike her character.

I wish real teachers looked like Josie Davis. The GF was also attractive too but I am sure when the girl reaches Josie's age she will look all botox too because everyone ages and aging is not pretty. And in a youth obsessed society and to work in Hollywood, you can bet your can she will be running to the botox and fillers doctors too and plastic surgeons when she is bamming 40 and over or whatever procedures are to come by that time. haha
