Did I miss something?

So I guess Buck (not Bucky) died, but they didn’t actually show a scene where he was killed?

In Part 4, the mission to bomb the submarine pens at Bremen is not shown at all which is bizarre considering the episodes before and after were filled with aerial combat scenes. All we see about the Bremen mission is the returning bombers and the mention that eight are unaccounted for including Buck’s. In the post-mission interrogation, Rosie says he took command of the squadron after Buck’s fort went down. We don’t know if Buck died or bailed out and survived.

In the intro you see some scenes of POW's walking in the snow, and a POW camp being shot up by attack planes, so Buck's crew very likely survived and got captured, something we will see in any future episodes.

This. I think it was pretty obvious that Bucky didn't die. He's a major character and played by Austin Butler so they wouldn't just kill him offscreen.

Just looking him up you'll see he died in 2006, spoilers I guess.
