instead of developing the character on its own they used her as a prop to further klaus' character.
You could tell that they couldn't figure out what to do with her character and a lot of the fans were getting frustrated because we could see how desperate they were to keep her and to make her relevant and to be with klaus but it just wasn't organic and didn't feel natural, at least to me. They were so focused on her being the love interest and to further klaus' story that they just destroyed what could have been a great character.
It's like her story could have been great and could have gone in so many directions but the showrunners and writers were so focused on putting her with klaus that they disregarded everything else even if it wasn't working.
Basically all this.
And to be completely honest I never could really believe the chemistry between Leah and Joseph. And this is not to bash any of the actors because they are both great, but you could just see how the showrunners were forcing them together. Did they have great scenes and lines? Yes, there's no doubt but the romantic and sexual chemistry just wasn't there. I loved the chemistry between cami and marcel and even more I loved the chemistry between cami and Vincent.( Was I the only one who noticed how natural their chemistry was?)
Yes. There were few scenes last year when I found romantic chemistry between them believable but not this year. They tried too hard with Klaus and Cami especially this season. Cami was so natural with other male characters even with Elijah but with Klaus there was awkwardness which I guess was the purpose too since they were trying to make it angst but yes they lacked chemistry this season. And the character's interaction with each other, all boils down to the actors. They both are decent actors but something was lacking in their scenes. That scene with them making out on christmas episode was good choreographed but it lacked chemistry and both the actors looked so uncomfortable in that scene.
There were a lot of people who wanted her character to stay on the show simply because of the ship and when other people were voicing their opinions and dislikes about the character they were interpreting that the people were only saying that to bash their ship.
^This and that they wanted Klaus to be happy. Is Klaus's happiness just based on a romantic love interest?
and I so agree with bold part. I hate that no one can give logic on this board without being targeted as a shipper. It is like we are all 12 year old and cannot think outside that ship box.
Reading your post and how and what they did to Cami's character, it is clear that they didnt know what to do with Cami except for using her as a prop to further Klaus's character.
