I know I need to let it go, but regarding Cami...

...that's such BS that they didn't her story was over. They kept Matt on TVD this whole time and what in the heck has been his story? None! So I'm still pissed they killed off Cami. That's all. Rant done.

But it is two different shows and two different show runners. Narducci runs TO, Caroline Dries runs Tvd. Idk how much hands on JP even does on these shows anymore.

reply

Caroline Dries has not been TVD's showrunner the whole time. She was promoted to co-executive producer after Kevin Williamson left.

Plec is a showrunner for both shows and she's said that she won't kill off TVD's Matt or TO's Josh.

But even if we are to assume that Plec had no involvement in the decision to kill off Cami, the fact that Cami was considered by Narducci (and possibly Plec) as a more useless character than Josh speaks volumes about how little they understand their own characters.

I know I'm a vampire, Snookie.

Honestly, I've wondered if the only reason they haven't offed Josh is because they think it'd qualify as a Buty Your Gays thing (I say this as a bi dude, so). He's just so totally pointless and worthless. I liked him at first but

You're certainly not the only one that feels this way.

Good. I'm glad we aren't the only two. I'm pissed...still.

reply

A lot of people are still pissed.

reply

I'm still pissed and bitter over Cami.

reply

You're not the only one. I'm super pissed about what they did with Cami. And if they honestly believe that BS they're saying about there being no more story left to tell with Cami, then they seriously lack some creativity. They had a potentially awesome storyline set up for her in season 1 and what did they do with it? Nothing. And I find it extremely sad that we've spent three seasons with such a great character yet we know so little about her as an individual. It's just sad that they wasted her character like this.

Well said!

Well said. Every time I rewatch the first seasons I am amazed about the scenes between Klaus and Camille, their mutual understanding, attraction, repressed hunger, and all this mixed with screwball comedy elements. Well done, I should say, and what a *beep* ending.

I hoped, and really thought, that the next season would be about Team Human Faction, together with Will Kinney ( who would finally reveal his real background) and Vincent.

Now it appears the writers are done with fights between all kinds of supernaturals and it will be about trying to be normal (under cover like the werewolves did in the woods) and about redemption, maybe even turning into humans, who knows...

reply

I still think her death made for a great episode, just like Matts would on TVD had they had the stones to murk him. I still see Camilles death as the trigger that finally will set Klaus on his path to redemption. Hell, in these last two episodes alone he's tried to help Davina for Kol even though he himself was at risk, and tried to talk down Marcel instead of using actions.

reply

I have to admit, I'm not going to miss her much, but I certainly never wanted her to get killed off. I don't think two and a half seasons is enough time for someone to decide that a character's story has run its course. With good writers, anything is possible. Now, if it was for budget reasons, that's an entirely different story.

After the crossover episode, I thought it would've been cute if Stefan had anonymously sent Klaus a vial of Elena's blood, containing the cure for vampirism. Now I can't even write a fanfic about it!

reply

Cami had a lot of story left. I wonder if they kill of the females so quickly be/c it's probably a larger female audience that watches (I'm totally speculating here. I do not have any clue.) and for some reason the show's bosses think we're okay with killing off the women instead of some of the men on the show.

Just a thought.

Could be, but now they know for sure we women are not amused AT ALL, lol

I stand by my assessment this was popularity based. Cami and Davina are among the least popular characters on the show (Hayley is more hated but she's a Mary Sue, so)

Actually, I think Marcel was one of the least popular characters on the show. Now that may improve given his current status. But they usually pump up the other characters by tearing down the Originals.

Sure. Now he is. But when Season 3 started? Nuh uh. That was Cami, Davina, and Hayley.

The fact Marcel has a more immediate Mikaelson probably helped too

They need to stop using the BS line of "her story was over" and still keep characters like Josh and Marcel around who have been done for a long freaking time. I don't even watch this show anymore but I can tell you that Josh hasn't progressed at all and I don't understand why he is even on here anymore.

reply

Like a dumby I just watched the video of their dream date while she was dying. Such a nice time when they both admitted, knew they loved each other. I know she was a good person and Klaus has done terrible things, but they loved each other, nothing else mattered. Even if her story was his lover, so what?!? Many shows have the wife of the main protagonist on the show and fans don't question why they're there. They wasted too much time getting together.

I can't figure out why The Originals can kill off main characters, but The Vampire Diaries refuses to. Everyone substantial that has died on TVD (Bonnie, Jeremy, Alaric) has basically come back to life in some form or fashion. There is no sense of danger anymore with these characters. Matt should have been dead a long time ago (or at least let go from the show as he legit adds nothing anymore IMO) and I definitely thought that Enzo, as much as I like him, should have died in the finale. The Originals killed it these season by killing off Cami and Davina, basically in the same episode. Did not see either of those deaths coming.
