Is this show any good?
Worth a shot or don't waste my time?
shareGooder'n some, as they say in Boise. First season better, before we was gentrified.
shareSeason 1 was let me say interesting with good actors like Matt Dillon. Season 2 is totally crap, pretty bad actors, pretty bad storyline. In comparison to season 1 it feels totally cheap.
shareYes, but you should only watch it from the very beginning. Meaning season 1, episode 1. Don't, for example, let season 2, episode 1 be your first ever viewing of the series.
I loved both seasons and am very much looking forward to a season 3. Hopefully they come through for the many fans of the show. I love the premise and the questions it poses, even if some of the execution at times is not the best. And, yes, there are holes or questionable scientific aspects of the story, but that could be said for virtually any sci-fi TV series.
Well I finished binge watching season 1 and enjoyed it very much.
Can't say the same for season two. I'm on episode three and already I'm losing interest fast.

Quit now, it only goes downhill from there. You can read what many others have said and save yourself time and anger by walking away right now. If you continue watching you will hate watch the rest of the way and wish you had those 7 hours of your life back.
shareWell, I've gotten this far already, so might as well finish it.
Has the show been renewed for a third season?

At this point it has not, and judging from the ratings drop from season 1 to 2 it will likely not be renewed. Some on here think that b/c shamilamadingdong said he's got a plan for season 3 that means it's coming back. Problem is that they lost 33% of the audience and finished with 2.12 million viewers, it's ranked in the mid 50's (likely bouyed by Master Chef in the 8pm slot) and is at a 0.70 for the key demo. As a comparison - Fring, the last multiseason sci-fi show fox broadcasted, drew 3.48 million viewers in season 4 and it took massive fan support to get fox to renew for season 5 which was a half season. With those numbers it's not likely fox would renew for season 3.
shareGive it time. Season 2 was slow to get going and heat up. I think by the end it will have your full interest once again.
I also didn't like the character of Jason, and that may impact your view of the second season, as it did mine for awhile. I guess he was a necessary evil to put into the series, as a cautionary tale, but he was nevertheless an unsympathetic person. That's why I was glad how he ended up by the end of season 2. I can't understand some comments where people thought what Theo did to Jason at the end was bad. I thought that was a a very good thing and, if humans were to survive into the future, a necessary step.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to a next season, and am really hoping they give the go ahead to a season 3.
I still can't get over how good season one was! The suspense and unanswered questions had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It would've been torture to have to wait each week for new episodes.
And you're right Jason's character is really unlikeable and the actor who portrays him is a complete bore.

I really hope there's no 3rd season. Season 2 ended more or less the same as the books ended and I am really busy organizing bison hunts in Yellowstone and film crews can be a real pain in the ol' abbyass.
shareIt's pure crap.
shareI'll give my opinion in relation to craps. I liken season 1 to the kind of dump that just feels good. You sit down, push, plop and relief in your tummy with minimal wiping needed.
Season 2 is food poisoning crap. You're on the toilet for hours, red hot pain shooting from your sphincter, never quite sure if or when more liquid excrement will come spewing forth, hoping each time that it will be the last time. You think it can't get any worse, freeling a bit better back in your bed, and then at the last moment boom you're back on the can with more pure death shooting from your rear end.
Only if you like hate-watching shows. Both seasons are riddled with massive plotholes (especially the first one IMO- past the first few episodes which were nice, the rest makes less and less sense) and they stink of Shyamalan. You'll probably end up rooting for 99% of the main characters to die. It's not for everyone.
shareI agree. Up to S01 E05 is decent; downhill fast after that. Not gonna watch S02.
shareSeason one was brilliant ,season two not so much.
shareFirst season was really good
Second blows
Like the two boondock saints movies
I'd recommend season 1. The mystery was interesting and fun to watch. But season 2 was a steaming pile of s**t. Luckily, season 1 encompassed the entire novel series so you don't really need to watch any further seasons.

season 1 encompassed the entire novel serieskinda ... with significant differences, including the ending. share
Unlike alot of viewers, I was content with the season 1 finale. I feel like films with similar feels to season 1 may have shocking endings such as that. I didn't really need a continuation.
