That ending WTF!
6/10 for me πππ
shareYeah I didnt like the ending. Didnt make any sense. Basically all his work out the window.
I would have give 7 if the ending was better.
The ending you have to notice whats going on. The light colors is them on the other side, the dark is as they are. They showed the armed guys, they got killed as they came out, then their spirits are free.
shareIf you have an issue with the ending make sure to never watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid which was nominated for Best Picture and won Best Screenplay.
The bigger issue for me was the climax as a whole. I just found the whole superwoman thing hard to take seriously.
You must be crazy to compare a great movie like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid to this average movie.
Sundance kid leads up to that ending and you actually understand it. Also for that time it was a very creative way of ending it and actually shock people. AFter that every average movie tried to copied it but failed.
Like can you imagine at the end of Taken both the father and daughter dies? This is how it felt.
I said they had the same ending, not that they were in the same league of movie.
Look, I'm sorry you didn't get your Disney happy ending and it made you feel bad. I guess you'll just have to go on and live day by day.

The ending also reminded me of Burch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, as well as Thelma and Louise.
shareI think the ending basically works because David is behind the 8-ball and one step behind for the entire movie. It makes sense he wouldn't make it out. It's a little puzzling that Claire/Sarah/Eve would knowingly go back to the house at the end, being full aware the others would come after them. Also odd that a full shoot-out could occur in their backyard without the police arriving but anyway....suspension of disbelief.
"This is dead air, Barry....dead air."
That's what doesn't work for me. You could understand a regular guy like David making mistakes in these crazy situations but why would Clarie drag a beat up David back to the house in the middle of the night. Also the shootout was over the top.
5/10 the movie was ok but I would never watch it again. The movie is missing something
Because, I think she truly found love with him. He proved so much to her by trying to find her and not giving up. It was time to leave for paradise and be together for eternity. Like, a modern Romeo and Juliet.
shareI thought of Butch & Sundance, too. It was an act of love on her part (i.e., let's die together), so I agree with mishell1383 on that. The plot goes off the rails in the second half, but I didn't mind because the moments were better than the plot. I thought Aaron Paul and Annabelle Wallis were great, with terrific chemistry. Unfortunately, watching their story unfold meant watching the absurdity of the secret agent/Bourne Identity garbage. Still a nice, touching end scene.
shareShe had to get the film.
sharemore like Bonnie and Clyde
sharePriat:
Just saw this movie, because I love thrillers, but Claire simply acted like a trained secret agent---she wasn't trying to be a "superwoman"---don't know where you got that from. It was cool to see her handling her business and protecting who she had to protect. Seeing the ending sucked because of all they'd both been through--I was hoping they would make it out together. Really good suspense film---I'd never heard of it until a couple of weeks ago---it's on Netflix now, btw.
I think they commited suicide
shareI would have titled this thread 'The movie WTF'. Nothing was surprising from the moment they saw each other on the bus and he got off with her I knew they were a couple. I knew she wasn't dead. (Who didn't?) It was way less than average for me: 3-4/10 because it was nice to see LA again.
