Since Whiplash is one of my all-time favorite films and is also possibly the most intense film I've seen, I was wondering if there were any other films that had a similar level of intensity.
I did some searching on my own for this but haven't found any of the commonly mentioned films to be as intense (and I had already seen them) which include Prisoners, Sicario, No Country for Old Men.

A Separation (2011), I remember it as being intense and having conflict, though the subject matter is entirely different. Also The Hunt (2012) is intense af.
