Perfect example of a movie with awesome reviews and...

...then you see it and wonder why it got awesome reviews. I decided to see it because of the high ratings, and what a surprise. It was ok, but I was pretty confused on how this received such positive reviews. I must be missing something. The acting was great, however the story for me was a little far fetched.

Right from the opening scenes we are thrown into the drama of a bank robbery. It just didn't resonate with me, the character development was just not there and I found myself somewhat bored. My girlfriend hated it, and was angry that I insisted we see this! I just kept telling her it had great reviews. I really diidn't feel any sympathy with the characters or their plight by the end of this.

All in all, a great example of one of those movies with high marks which ends up giving you the feeling its overrated.

I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, because aside from the acting I thought this movie sucked overall.

The poster I've seen is covered with 4-star review spots. I think that's pretty accurate. It's not a 5 star movie, but definitely 4 star.

The reviews are judging it by what it sets out to do, which is tell a Western-Bank heist story with characters that are supposed to be way more complex and interesting than really just likable. I don't understand how you can say character development wasn't there cause for most of the time these people are talking, the film is setting up these people will backstories and reasons for what they do what they do and asks you to wonder if you're with them or against them.

I totally agree. Maybe I had too much expectations, but it's nowhere near the good reviews it has.

You and your girlfriend are retards...it's ok go back to Transformers movies...it's ok. You're too dumb to understand how great this movie is....it's ok there's always Twilight movies out there for your whore of a girlfriend.

I finally tracked down a theater showing this and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is one the best I've seen all year and that's saying a lot if you've seen what we've been offered so far.

Terrific movie. I gave it a "ten." Whenever the dvd becomes available and I revisit it perhaps my response will be less (I am curious to see how I react when I do see it again after a wait period) , but right nowm I think it a 10.

I saw it yesterday and I liked it very much.

PS....what's the deal with people who get angry when you take them to a movie, and they wind up not liking it? Liking or not liking a movie is always a throw of the dice anyway. I'll never understand people who actually get angry.
