Technically, The Revenant constituted a 2015 release (hence its Best Director victory at the most recent Oscars).
... intriguing to see multiple Nice Guys citations. I actually viewed the film three times, but all three screenings led me to the same conclusion: the film was only "decent," as its tone proved too inconsistent. One can see my extensive comments about it in two posts in this thread:

2) The Jungle Book ("very good" ... saw it twice)
3) The Free State of Jones ("good/very good" ... saw it twice)
I found the following films "good": Race, Criminal (saw it twice), Elvis & Nixon (saw it three times), The Man Who Knew Infinity (saw it three times), Dough, A Bigger Splash, Indignation, Hell or High Water.
And I found Southside with You "pretty good/good" (saw it twice).
If I had to take two of those movies, I would probably select Hell or High Water and A Bigger Splash, although Race and Indignation would be up there as well.
I will probably see Hell or High Water once more.
I'm surprised I don't see Demolition anywhere. I'm pretty sure, right now before Oscar season gets going, that this Jean-Marc Vallee movie would be the best of 2016.
If you haven't seen it, I recommend it.
