Did you actually see the film? Because it's good.

Wondering if people actually saw this movie because it was good. Not excellent or amazing but it was good. Much better than the first one. I saw it in IMAX 3D in a completely packed theater and some people even clapped at the end. I am starting to think the reviews and threads are being made by Xmen fans who just want the worst for this movie as a lot of their comments are vague and touch on things only shown in the trailer. "god this movie was terrible" "don't waste your money" "fell asleep" or perhaps you didn't actually see it.

The opening scene was visually stunning along with the sea of time scenes. They gave good back story into all of the wonderland characters. I thought Baron Cohen was really funny as time, and all other parts were played well also. Mia did a much better job emotionally as Alice in this one I thought. The story line behind the red queen and white queen was interesting, and most likely this will win another Oscar for costuming.

Also keep hearing people say the story is all over the place. When did that happen? As I recall the plot was to go back in time to save the hatter, which is what the ENTIRE movie is about. Don't know why people think it was all over the place. When you are going back and forth in time that's not all over the place that's called the plot.

I just don't understand how people can take a movie like Alice so seriously. It's literally all make believe. It was fun and I enjoyed it along with everyone else I saw it with. All in all it was far from being a bad movie. I didn't read the book and didn't walk into it with any expectations and thought it was pretty good and will most likely buy it when it comes out on blu ray. Maybe some people can't separate "bad" from "not what they were expecting".

Wife and I went to see it Monday night and thoroughly enjoyed it. 3D was great. We took it all in fun as it was supposed to be taken... a retelling (with twists) of a fairy tale. Go see it and enjoy! :)

I haven't seen the first one, but this was pretty good. Never really a dull moment.

I agree. I enjoyed this movie very much. The visuals were wonderful again. The story didn't drag, and moved along nicely. I liked the little life lessons in the movie too. The humor made me smile. I'm not so sure Sasha Baron Cohen's performance was the best, but it was adequate. He just struck me as being too young to be Time. Just a casting decision I disagree with.

I saw it today and loved it

It was BETTER than the first.

This one had a clearer plot: just save Hatter and his family. Including by changing the past if necessary. Then Alice learns the valuable lesson that you CAN'T change the past. But she can still do the "unimpossible"

I loved it and thought it was better than other movies playing that people and critics are praising. There was no lag time it held your interest throughout, and I laughed at the Hatter and friends pulling Time's leg at the Tea Party.
If I was given a choice between Jungle Book, Miracles from Heaven, and this film on which I could go see again I would choose Alice!

So long and thanks for all the fish!
