Most Ironically Cast Movie of All Time

I find it ironic how they actually cast real washed up actors for this film. Most notably, Michael Keaton and Naomi Watts. Prior to this film, what is Michael Keaton mostly known for? The old Batman movies made over 20 years ago... It's funny how Edward Norton is actually an egotistical person in real life, he is also known to be a pain to work with. I don't mean any disrespect to these actors, they did a great job in this movie. I just find the choice of casting very interesting and perhaps ironic.

It interesting how except for Naomi Watts (to an extent) most of the cast of this movie are irrelevant today in terms of star power. I can’t tell you the last time I saw Edward Norton or Zach Galifianakis in a major role, and Emma Stone isn’t the “it girl” she used to be not too long ago, and Michael Keaton’s comeback with this movie hasn’t really propelled him back to stardom as deeply as one would expect. His only memorable role in recent years has been in the movie about the founder of McDonald’s.

In general, we live in an era of post-stardom in cinema. I agree; actors like Norton, Watts, Keaton, Galifianakis—great talents—all seem to have taken a step back. As for Emma Stone, one my favorite actress today, she just won another Oscar. However, I do wonder about her popularity among the audience. I think "it girl" is the right term to describe her.

Yeah, Emma Stone has made somewhat of a comeback with Poor Things since I made this post. Keaton also had a boost in 2023 as well reprising his role as Batman in the Flash.
