China pandering

is strong with this one...

Wasn't "Pacific Rim" a bit of a flop?

Is so, the new Asian market is probably the only reason a sequel was made, so yeah. They're going to pander to that audience.

reply

Appealing to the first movie’s largest (by far) market? Gee, I wonder why.

The Asian influence in the first one was, I think, pretty obvious.

reply

The USA market is less important these days.

reply

Any movie with a China pander usually ends bad. Majorly bad if not majority bad. Take Independence Day 2 for instance. These world come together scenes where oh US wouldn't have been able to do this without China cooperation or leading in some way.

reply

Independence Day ... *shudder*

That is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. And the pandering is almost parody like it's so lame.

reply

You mean the sequel, right? The first is great!

reply

Can it be pandering if a Chinese company paid for it?

reply

Well... It is called "Pacific" Rim, rather than Atlantic Rim... 😉😂

reply

Right right. Because the USA only has an Atlantic coastline. SMH!
