Movies u love, but everyone hates...

So after reading some of the reviews, it's obvious GDT is not for everyone...But those who get him enjoy the hell out of it. So, what other movies can u think of, u like, but most other people hate or just don't get...

For me:
- Pacific Rim

Love The Pagemaster! But I don´t get why some people on here aren´t even trying.. Do they really think everyone but them hates Avatar, Birdman, the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus?! It distorts the list.. ah well who cares

A vast majority of people like those films you listed. Pacific rim - 84% positive ratings,
John Carter - 80% positive ratings, The Tall Man 67% positive...

I think they garnered popularity over time. I felt like out the gate, a lot of people completely misunderstood the films. I still get picked on for liking pacrim so much, and my brother (horror freak) still considers the Tall Man, whereas I found it to be an amazing social commentary. And really really enjoyed Jessica's performance...

Even those who made Hammer´s Lust for a vampire hate it. I think it great fun and looks great - Gothic sets, nice lighting, vampires. Ditto to Hammer´s Scars of Dracula.
Mary Shelley´s Frankenstein is gorgeous, classic Frankenstein movie. Mary Reilly has awfully lot of scenes with the heroine crrying tray (she IS a servant), but it too has great look and atmosphere.
I also enjoy Dracula dead and loving, flaws and all, with Stoker´s classic characters and sumptuous production values.

What was that movie that Jack (a very young version) Nicholson and Vincent price did together ? The sets on that house were so spot on, that's the stuff Gothic horror are made of. It was so funny, both of those actors and their grade mark gestures...Wait, we're was I going with this ? Crap, sorry, I lost my train of thought. Anyway, hopefully someone knows the name of that film.

Sounds like The Raven!

Striptease with Demi Moore and Burt Reynolds! This movie is hilarious!

reply

Nope, it was "The Terror", I had to look it up. However, I didn't realized that he was also in The Raven, so you were spot on too...Damn, they don't make movies like that anymore. They weren't the best of movies, but they did have something special about them. Most movies are forgotten by the time we leave the theatre these days...
