Disappointing....
Basically Event Horizon 2.0 and a wasted opportunity to really connect to the first movie, well apart from the 2 second appearance of Clovie at the end.

I agree I dont remember a War for energy in to 2008 Cloverfield.. I don't remember Clovie so Big.. waste of time... and 10 euro for netflix this month
shareThe Cloverfield paradox is the combination of all universes overlapping. All possibilities exist,so you could say this is the story of an alternate dimension and it's events. I'd also say , regarding the size of the monster,we don't know how big others might have been. Maybe the monsters we've seen are relatively small.
shareYeah I understand the multiple universe angle but that doesn't change the fact that overall this is just a mediocre 'space horror' movie with some Cloverfield in it.
shareThere was no reason to call this film Cloverfield - which also explains why this was actually called god particle before they've decided to cash in on the Cloverfield name.
It's like you make a horribly written, cheesy horror flick and put an Alien at the end sequence - and then call it Aliens 4.
He did the same thing with the name of Cloverfield Lane, it was something different right up to release. While I thought Cloverfield Lane was really good, I felt tying it to this universe was a cash grab.
shareIt's kind of true - that film could have been its own film, rather than featuring the Cloverfield name.
Agreed.
While a decent movie I guess it's nowhere near as good as Cloverfield (2008) was.
Sad. Acting mediocre, visuals mediocre, story lacking.
I would say 5.5 out of 10 max
I fast-forwarded through around 50% of the film. That's not a good a sign, if you get my drift.
Usually sci fi films have a decent a build up before crashing hard due to horrible writing (event horizon) - in this case, the film crashed very early on, which means there's very little to enjoy, period.
The best thing anyone can do is skip this pile of crap. Hell - this movie makes the Prometheus films look like masterpieces.
