Does anyone find this premise to be garbage?

They had a son, he died, but luckily (DING DING!) a baby come out of nowhere from the sea. Completly unrealistic. It's like a story where characters are about to go bankrupt.... but they win 100 million at the lotery.

I sympathize with the OP's consternation. I am often lost to the appeal of movies or television and wonder if others can enlighten me.

I am trying to force myself through the television series "Saving Grace". I keep telling myself it must be ironic, or metaphor or sarcastic, but I just don't get it.

I always hope that the truth is obvious but not simple i.e Gilligan's Island and the Seven Deadly Sins.

Well, yes it's kind of far fetched. Luckily I saw "Don't Breathe" right before this movie and anything next to it seems so real I thought TLBO was a documentary.

It is a bit far fetched, but I suppose a lot of movies are, really.

....its a movie, not a documentary; you have suspend your disbelief.

Stranger things happen at sea. Oh wait, this is at sea!

While you do have to suspend your disbelief to a degree, we think it is more about the moral questions that this situation raises.
