That dinner scene...

*beep* me give if scenes got oscars.

Take me hat off to the cast, they had that on point

reply

That scene hit me so hard, the acting was phenomenal.

reply

That is what you call acting, that's what real life acting is there.

reply

I 100% agree. I watched that whole scene with my hands on my face I don't think I even took a breath. It was so intense and so perfectly written and acted.

reply

Yes, superb acting by everyone. A scene that will stay with all viewers.

reply

The acting was second to none. I'm still thinking about the scene today, incredible.

We don't need these happy endings.

reply

Jaw dropping stuff. I thought the LOL-Mick confrontation in '86 would never be topped, then we got that one in the final episode of '88 between Woody and everyone, and I think it was. Now this!

I almost cried.

reply

What was more amazing that was all shot in one shot without one mistake

reply

It brought tears to my eyes and that has happened maybe five times in my 40 years of watching tv/movies. Meadows has a way of extracting incredible performances. Its a shame more people around the world will never see it. Any aspiring actor or director should watch this scene.

I had to pause the dinner scene - so intense. Shaun sat down the end with his head down, not knowing where to look. Filmed like you're sat right right in it, at the head of the table. As pulsating, raw and distressing as TV can achieve surely.

Good to know it was all done in one take-- Mind-blowing!

Excellent acting, intense scene. I usually don't care much about fictional characters but I was almost crying about the anguish and pain they were experiencing.
