Rewatch

My definition of a good film is one that fans rewatch.

Is this a movie to watch again?

reply

No. I agree with your Barometer , but saddly no. it does not stand up to repeated viewings. it's all just so much fluff full of sound and Fury and signifying nothing. The logic of it all actually falls apart upon closer inspection at every turn. it is hideous film making.

reply

"it is hideous film making"
What else do you expect from the idiotic director who brought nothing to Star Trek but an unneeded faster pace and lens flares? I was on to Abrams back in 2009, I knew his tricks then.

reply

Its better the 2nd time

reply

Maybe... if you only care for the lightsaber duels, big explosions and the fast paced pew-pew action. There are certainly no more story details to be revealed by repeated viewings.

reply

that can be said about every star wars movie once you see the story its done

reply

Story and only story is what makes rewatch a rewarding venture. It's gotta have heart and soul. A true timeless story can be retold in any genre. Strip away the bells and whistles. Is this movie still compelling if it's just characters sitting in a room talking to each other?

reply

On that note, did they even sit around the big table and read this script together? How the hell did that go down I wonder. Did anybody even know what was going on?

reply

I have no interest in re watching. Once was enough to pay respects.

reply

Definitely, enjoyed it more 2nd time around
