Bring back Palpatine = fan pandering
I didn’t like “Star Wars: The Last Jedi”, but come on ... it’s incredibly transparent that Episode IX is dredging up a bunch of old characters to pander to the legions of whiny fans.
shareFor fuck's sake, TLJ gets slated by some fans (who claim to be "most fans") because it didn't deliver what they theorised JJ's TFA had set it up to deliver. In other words, it did not service the fans the way some fans reckoned they'd been promised it would.
As a Star Wars fan for my whole life (as far back as I can remember) I have no problem saying that some Star Wars fans need to get a life. If they don't like some of the things in Star Wars that's fine. I don't always like everything I see. But if you're constantly anxious about the motivation for things rather than the result the that's no kind of life and you'd be better of doing something else. Like a baseball draft.
