"Now it's worth it." But...wait

Don't get me wrong. I'm happy for the Horse-rabbits. They should be free. (Though they'll probably be rounded up again tomorrow.) They were enslaved and abused, and good for Finn and Rose for trying to free them.

But...they just left the abused, enslaved *children* behind???

What is it about Star Wars and slavery? In Phantom Menace, Anakin laments to Qui-Gon his belief that the Jedi Master had come to Tatooine to free the slaves, despite Qui-Gon's assertion to the contrary. "I didn't actually come here to free slaves." Then Anakin says, "I think you have. Why else would you be here?" Or something like that.

Even when Anakin is saying farewell to his mother, he says "I will come back and free you Mom. I promise."

I incorrectly assumed that the Prequels would have Anakin lead a Jedi crusade against slavery in the Outer Rim. Seemed like a reasonable route to take the story. Thought it could've been woven into the Clone Wars somehow.

Just thought it was oddly funny that Finn and Rose were so pleased with themselves for freeing the Horse-rabbits...but the slave kids were deserted. Lol.

Maybe the Jedi are not allowed to be "political" or take sides. The cloned soldiers were another example of the Jedi being complicit. Anakin did return to free his mother if only from the Sandpeople who were holding her.

Finn and Rose were a bad joke on the fans.

Sandpeople ?
that's racist ! from now on they will know as desert dwellers.....

I don’t think Tatooine (and maybe even all or most of the Outer Rim worlds) was part of the Republic.

“The Republic’s antislavery laws—“

“The Republic doesn’t exist out here.”

“Republic credits? Republic credits are no good here, I need something more real.”

^exactly

- The Jedi have no jurisdiction in the Outer Rim, it's not the Republic. An American police man cannot arrest someone in Iran, it's Assumtion of authority and a crime itself.

- Also this was a undercover mission. They could not draw attention to the queen.

There you go finding yet another flaw in TLJ lol Yes the freeing of the animals was silly since they can be easily rounded up again, while showing not the least bit of concern for the child laborers..Rose is probably a PETA member.

When she gave her speech about how they were going to win the war with the power of love that was when I officially gave up and decided she was a completely worthless character.

They weren't deserted. They got a cool parting gift reward for keeping their mouths shut in the sign of the Rebel Resistance insignia. That way, they can point it to the stars/moon and think one day they'll get rescued (they'll get massacred or sold off) or maybe star a rebellion of their own. Animals don't have much of a brain as humans do so they wanted to help the animals get free first (they all got rounded up and some got slaughtered for the meat) while feeling good about themselves doing some rebellous action.

I think the little Force sensitive slave-boy living at a race track (Broom Kid) was an allusion to Ep 1 Anakin and meant to say that the Force brings forth new Force users and new stories.
