After reading horror stories on here and social media about how bad this movie was, I finally plucked up the courage to watch it. But surprisingly, despite the agenda I thought it was a fairly good watch. The scene with Luke and [spoiler]Yoda, and the Binary Sunset throwback to ANH[/spoiler] was great. Mark Hamill is a great actor.

Corny dialog, gaping plot holes, continuity errors galore, and just generally bad writing. Wrong venue to play with the audience expectations with the postmodern meta commentary. Horrible attempt at trying to be intellectual while selling stuffed animals at the same time. Some parts were competently made, so 3/10.

I'll give it a 5/10, only seen it once though--that number may increase/decrease over time. It's a weaker Star Wars film, and I don't get this whole "lets take out Snoke and his Mega-class Super Star Destroyer before the final act" idea they had, so lets see what JJ does with IX.

I don't think I have ever been more disappointed in a movie my entire life. I really wish it didn't exist, and I wish JJ had decided to write and direct all three sequels.
