Think acceptance will be a long time coming though, especially now there is a moral component to the denial (i.e. if you don't like the new Star Wars you're a women hating misogynerd).

if EP IX does bad, KK will likely be fired
EP VIII already did horrible. It only survived cause of the fantastic presold ticket sales. Without this movie would already be a financial desaster. So KK already has a huge problem. With that movie noone would trust her anymore enough to get similiar ticket presales again. So how should the next Star Wars movie therefor led by her not fail again? KK is toxic already for box office.
