So do we get an apology?

The go to defence for most of the crap in this film was the classic "It will all be explained in the sequel". And now we know it wasn't. Because there was nothing to explain. There was never any overarching story, JJ had no plan, nobody knows who Snoke is or where Rey has come from and what is worse - they don't care! Because they know all they had to do was slap the Star Wars logo on something and it will sell.

So - to all the passionate defenders of this corporate shell game - do you get it now? Do you understand what we were trying to say? That if you give TFA a pass they will never *ever* try to make something better. I mean, why would they? Why the f*ck would you bother trying to make a coherent film that doesn't shit all over the originals when TFA broke 2 Billion AND had rave reviews across the board?

So congratulations on helping to create what is shaping up to be the worst trilogy in Cinema since Big Momma's House.

reply

And yet you gave Disney your money anyway.

reply

Well, I'm not giving them any more unless they get a wild hair and make another Tron sequel. Then again, under current management, they'd probably screw that up, too.

reply

We GOT a Tron sequel, and they DID screw that up. Unless you actually LIKE Legacy?

reply

Yeah, I honestly liked it. The overall vibe and music were great. The story started promising but they did mess that up near the end.

reply

Unless you know Arghhhh personally how do you know he spent money on this garbage?

reply

Yep, can confirm. Disney Star Wars isn't getting a penny out of me. Not since TFA anyway. Once bitten and all that.

reply

Pretty sure they don't care. There are millions of others to take your place.

reply

Maybe. But do you really think there's going to be anybody left after Episode IX to milk at the rate they're burning through good will and nostalgia? Especially with old JJ in charge? I mean - he's well known for putting together satisfying endings right? Right?

reply

Absolutely right

reply

Kylo has every reason to lie to Rey and let her believe what she wants. He even says to let the past die, kill it if you have to. He killed her past.

Also, if her parents were actually random junkers, how would he know that? The only way he would know who her parents were is if he knew her parents. He was most likely living at the Jedi school when Rey was born.

reply

Oh Frog. You and your fan fiction. It makes me wonder why you even bother going to see films when you just make it all up anyway.

They're laughing at you, you know? JJ and KK. Having a good old chuckle.

reply

Rian Johnson himself has already said in an article that anything goes for Episode 9, when asked about Rey's parents.

Speaking with the Huffington Post, Johnson said: “Anything’s still open, and I’m not writing the next film. [J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio] are doing it.”
https://www.express.co.uk/entertainment/films/898883/Star-Wars-9-Rey-parents-Rian-Johnson-The-Last-Jedi-JJ-Abrams-The-Force-Awakens

Also, theorizing is not the same as "fan fiction," and I gave a good argument why the theory could be true.

I notice you didn't respond with any substance whatsoever. No comment at all about how Kylo could possibly know about random junkers.

As I said, the only way Kylo could know the identity of her parents is if he actually knew her parents. There's no reason for him to know some random junkers on Jakku. He was living at Luke's Jedi school.

reply

'it's easier to fool someone than to convince them they've been fooled...'

People defended TFA by saying all its plot holes/weaknesses will be fixed by the sequel. And they weren't. And now you think they'll be fixed in the next one!? And if not then, then maybe they will in the new trilogy I suppose?

There is nothing to explain. These aren't stories. Ren/Rey aren't characters. They are points plotted on a scattergram that JJ/KK hoped would appeal to the most profitable demographic. We are now almost 5 hours in to this new trilogy and everyone involved has admitted they're just making it up as they're going along.

It is ok to admit you were conned. Lied to. Just let it go. And don't let the fuckers bilk you out of any more money.

reply

According to frogorama if you don't like the way Rey was written it automatically means that you're sexist. What a sick and twisted way of thinking .

reply

Actually...I came here to post an apology that would most likely fulfill your request! You saved me some typing😉

Yes! I was wrong! TFA was not only not vindicated by TLJ, but was in fact made worse by it. I did and still do find the main problem with disneys involvement to be the lack of story arc devolpment for a trilogy...open ended was a tragic mistake! And to hand an open ended idea to another individual was just fucking stupid...

Although I did enjoy TFA...you guys were right😕

reply

more reason to get rid of Kathleen Kennedy, an overarching trilogy should flow and not contradict each other

reply

YES!!! Days ago I suggested Marcia Lucas as the one to lead Lucasfilm and it met mixed opinions...which is fine...but one thing is plainly clear...she never would have accepted a pitch for a trilogy with only one installment on paper!!! She NEVER would have approached the new trilogy with a calendar in hand spouting we must have a film in theaters by dec2015 come hell or high water...she would have said we will have a movie in theaters...when it's ready to be viewed...PERIOD...

And just to be clear...I've been preaching this kind of appreciation for Marcia since 1985 when I first connected her absence to the fact that ROTJ sucked...and later the prequels...oh what might have been the prequels if only Marcia would have been around😞 But even though I hated Jedi as a kid...and the prequels are...well...the prequels...nothing has damaged Star Wars for me like TLJ...like Luke after the slaughter of Owen and Beru...there's nothing for me here now...

reply

TFA wasn't great but gave them something to build off of, instead Johnson destroyed it, very gutsy if Rian pulled it off, but overall TLJ sucked

reply

Yeah...that...all that! Like I said...i liked TFA...sure i saw some fan service that borrowed, heavily at times, from the originals...but I understood that direction...it was safe fun and set up at least an interesting enough story for me want to continue the adventure. TLJ undid all of that for me including any love I had for TFA...I mean what's the fucking point???

reply

i'm intrigued why jj would come back, but since they didn't completely destroy rey or kylo is the reason he came back. just don't see how this comes a satisfying trilogy

reply

Man the trilogy ended...it just has another movie scheduled For some reasonLOL!!! Twenty bucks to the person that can tell what that reason is?

reply

money

reply

Yup...just not mine. Worst part is...id pay good money for good Star Wars...wonder if I'll ever get the chance again? Oh well...saw Empire like eleven times in the theater when I was a kid...doubt it cost me a combined twenty bucks...guess I showed them LOL!

reply

Apology? I can imagine the following exchange by cinemagoers wanting a refund and Disney executives:

"Fuck you, we got your money, now go away quickly."
(speechless and flabbergasted)

reply

The Disney Star Wars movies are some of the worst pieces of sh!t I have ever seen with TFA being the absolute worst. I don't want my money back I want an apology for Disney raping my childhood.

George Lucas needs to come back, he's our only hope.

reply

Tfa was a fun ride, im nostalgic so I loved it, the last Jedi though , now that's unforgivable

reply

You see I thought TFA was boring, had dull lifeless acting, a horrible main character and nothing more than a compilation of fan service and nostalgia. Not to mention that there was nothing original about it, all they did was remake ANH and swap in new characters.

reply

At the time I thought it was a good building block for a new trilogy, but after tlj, it's a waste of a film , starting to wish the would of given control to Lucas and centered the stories around solo and Skywalker offspring, after all , the star wars movies are centred around the Skywalker family, now it's the Rey show.
