The stupid contrived way she was captured

When someone has parked a foot from you and that someone is about to leave, what normal person then goes to squeeze between the cars to get in their door instead of just waiting a few seconds?

If this guy you don't know is sloppy enough to park that close in a big empty parking area, he's just as likely sloppy enough to suddenly start his car and steer towards you in the process of backing out, messing up your door and possibly you as well. Just wait for him to go.

Better writing would have had him say he had to answer the call of nature or something so it would be natural for her to leave without waiting, and then have him sneak up and surprise her as she tried to get in. Good excuse for an establishing jump-scare too if that's your jam.

Also she was so skinny, it made the acting in that scene terrible. I could clearly see the door was open wide enough for her skinny body, but she's pretending she can't get in. LOL!

reply

Indeed. And a tiny skinny thing like her, if she was insistent on leaving without waiting, would automatically jump in the passenger side and hop the center console - . I'm 6'3" and 220 lbs and I do it without fuss when I need to (Subaru Outback).

Yes, it was a bit silly.

Maybe it would have made more sense if he had slashed her tyre or something, then offered to fix it for her and made his move then.

reply

Yes. There's many other ways that could have played out, without making our heroine look that silly.
