Great Tribute for Longtime Fans

I loved this movie. but that said, I'm in my 50s and grew-up with stacks of Peanuts books.

It may not be exactly what the kids these days are accustomed to, but for someone in my demographic, it was virtually perfect.

The script was true to the vision of Schultz, even with the subtle changes in the characters (i.e. allowing Snoopy to have some genuine affection for Charlie, and having an uplifting story moment with the Little Red Haired Girl).

I actually appreciated the character changes that allowed for some degree of closure to the life-long loosing streak of poor Charlie, creating an ending with a long needed hopeful note - something Charles Schultz was never able to give us, but that his children graciously did.

Interesting. I will have to watch this. I too was always disappointed that Schultz didn't end the comic strip on a higher note. I always thought that he should have ended it with Charlie finally being able to kick that ball.

My wife dragged me to the theater a few years back, and I had dread in my heart, thinking, 'Oh God, how are they going to F! this up?'.

They didn't, Schultz's kids got it almost perfect . . . to me anyway.

If you were at all a fan, I think it will be a good movie for a quiet winter night.
