More Propoganda

Russians are baddies, USA wins. Hahaha... well timed, like everything in Hollywood, bravo.
Subliminal messaging, public approval/support 101.

There's also a trend in Hollywood to make water-boarding mainstream. I guess to make the US Government look better. The Government goes after movie pirates and Hollywood repays in kind. Pathetic propaganda.

Dumb movies have no propaganda. Propaganda is spread b shifting the public's beliefs based on perpetuating a false, but desirable reality.

There is no reality to this movie whatsoever and nothing that happens to any of the characters is remotely desirable. It these movies are live action comics. They have all the depth and importance of cotton candy.

Villains with accents is not propaganda, it's just an action mob=vie cliche. Change the accent or villains to Arabic, Latin, Asian, British, New York, or Southern not one bit of the plot or script would need to be changed.

If this movie was made in Britain, the foreign villains would lose and the British would win, if it were made in Russia, the Russians would win. It's common place for any mainstream action movie to have the heroes succeed. This wasn't about USA vs. anybody. It was about Bryan, the ex-husband winning against the evil stepfather.

reply

No.

It's subliminal. And you need to go do yer research of major Hollywood blockbusters 'enemies' and current world affairs. You will see time after time they line up just that bit too frequently.

reply

You're wrong. You need to look at reality. No one cares. Propaganda doesn't work and no one cares. No one is walking around talking about this movie. Those that are fans of this type have already moved on to Liam's latest movie or Fast and Furious 7. This isn't an important film and most people won't even remember or think about it this time next year.

reply

Yes, that's called S U B L I M I N A L.

reply

Lol, Yep, & with the first Taken Hollywood was using its propaganda power to influence world affairs & ensure everyone hated the Albanians because, um, hmmmm, .....

Ignore the troll
I think he posts on every film showing the Russians as bad guys, just imaging how he would react if he saw a film about the cold war between USA and Russia

Dunker56
Its just a *beep* film, if you don't like these kind of films then don't watch them, maybe try the notebook or the lake house

The husband of Lenore was the real badguy, and he wasn't Russian.

It's a giant conspiracy to make Americans hate Putin.

Oh wait... we already do.

reply

Nah! It's usually USA are the baddies w/filmmakers in Hollywood, most of them don't even love their country -OH unless they have "their person" running the Oval Office and they drinking the Kool-Aid for the one "running" our country now (to the ground- in my opinion) Don't want to start a political war, b/c I'm not affiliated w/any parties - I'm a registered Independent - I don't trust any politicians, I did love the one we had when I made my first vote for the first time and he proved to be one of the best and didn't take any crap from other countries who were threatening us and actually would've handled ALL these horrible situations that are going on now overseas. The sitting president in the white house is doing just that "sitting on his hands" and going around "apologizing for the United States" - please grow some balls and get to work over there. The troops our men/women in uniform are the most important and should be his first priority, but I have friends over there - they say he does nothing and he's so very smug when given speeches and tripping over his words or stuttering IF someone from the media throws him a "hardball" question, which rarely happens b/c the media is protecting him. I hope our next President has what it takes to protect and care and help our troops like they need. Sorry for going off topic - I apologize if people like this President, I just do NOT.

These movies are written and directed by Europeans

So...

To infer even modicum of substance to this film beyond pure bordering on comical, juvenile, action aimed at the dormant adolescent within the action genre seeker is misplaced. There is no overarching message, no subtle psy-ops subtext, no ulterior motive other than banking on Neeson's popularity.
