This is one of the best movies of the year.

I don't understand why this didn't do well in the theaters. The only reason I can fathom is due to all the bad press from the politically overcorrect media because there are too many white skinned actors playing the roll of an Egyptian.

If you're one of those intelligent people who can think independently and don't rely on the media to tell you how to think, you will find this movie to be a pleasant surprise. It is full of action, well scripted, good acting, and although it is full of CGI, you know that going into the movie and most of it is very well done.

This movie should have been a big commercial success; it is really good.

Yeah social justice warriors have it bad reviews so people thought the movie was actually bqd when it isn't.

Better than any super hero movie in the past 2 years except Deadpool.

It's bad.. saw it today... bad story, bad script, bad acting, terrible CGI... That said, I really enjoyed it. It's been a long while since I've seen a legit "so bad it's good" and that is exactly what this is.
Seems that there are a lot of films trying purposefully for that feel, but it can't be faked. There have also been a lot of movies that are just so bad it isn't even fun... but this, just so ineptly done on every level... I really would love to hear an honest interview with the leads, asking "Why?" I wish more bad movies were this much fun.

This is a good movie. The acting was good,
the pacing was rushed at some parts (for example, when Jamie Lanister
reluctantly gave the man-cub the bejeweled bracelet-- there should have been a pause there; he should've looked conflicted for more than half a second, which is what we see--if I were giving the mortal my deceased girlfriend's bracelet, it would move me for at least a few seconds).

This movie has both plot and character development.
Leonidas was blood-thirsty, so I did not like him at all.

I think many of the low reviews come from Christians
who watch the film and suddenly realized that their religion isn't as original or unique
as they thought. I guess they missed the part in the Bible where god mentions other gods.

And one more thing..
The thing I hate more than anything
on imdb is reading everyone's signature.

I feel the same. I wasn't great, they should have spent a little more time basically making you care about these people, but it was good old-fashioned Saturday afternoon fun. What's so bad about that? People are just too tight-assed these days when it comes to film.
I blame Siskel and Ebert. People used to go to the theater with a smile on their faces. Now they go in with turtlenecks and a notepad:)

As far as over assumptions go, that one is a whopper. We deserve a better blockbuster product than this.

I whole heartedly agree. The movie was really good actually, once you got past all the CGI, there was a solid adventure film underneath it. Great actors as well. I wish political correctness would just die out and black people would grow up from their delusions of grandeur..

I agree. Perhaps this is because I went in with low expectations, but nonetheless I was pleasantly surprised and rewarded with a very entertaining film.

The biggest flaw is the whitewashing, but it's a forgivable flaw even though it appears that not many would agree with me.

The characters are interesting and developed. The action is great and the tension is well set throughout. It's not overly cliched like many recent action films within the last decade (Fast and Furious franchise as an example).

It impressed me as far as action/adventures go. It deserves a higher rating. I gave it a 7.

The cold winds are rising. Winter is coming.

It was pretty, but certainly wasn't a good movie. I am an independently thinking individual who is intelligent, and I wasn't pleasantly surprised by this. The acting was fine, not compelling but not horrible, which should be commended because the script was poorly written. Predictable, and clunky in nature, it just bounded from one thing to another with little to tie them together. Historically it was poorly written too, because there were clear signs of iron working in some of the outfits and weapons, when they should barely even be working with bronze (if that even) given the time period. And don't give me the whole "gift of the gods" excuse, I just won't buy it.

Word of mouth. Also, in this case, the critics were dead on. It was just plain awful. An awful movie isn't going to do well.

I agree, just saw this yesterday and this movie sucks. I was wondering why it did so poorly at the box office, now I know. I just watched it cause it's got the dude from Game of Thrones in it and even he does a piss poor job in this movie.

I started watching it on DVD for the same reason. I just could not believe how bad it was. I stopped watching. I'll give it another go, but I'm not sure I can watch it till the end!
Maybe it would be better with the sound off?
