Just watched it. I prefer it to Gone Girl

I'm not saying this because i'm Theron's fan. I think the movie is good. The acting overall is better than Gone Girl. The cast is one of the main reasons making it successful. What i like about it is how it's less stylish than Gone Girl and of course more realistic and believable. Some people may find it boring. To me at least Dark Places only reveals it secret over the half movie while GG's story sounds comic and you don't have to guess because it's already revealed at the beginning. The movie has heart while Gone Girl just leaves me cold.

Now i get why Theron did this movie because it wasn't just relate to her past, it was also for her mom.

This wasn't a bad movie... it just felt like a meh adaption of a book. Almost like it was a Lifetime movie - just with A LOT more swearing.

I didn't hate it but imho Gone Girl was better. I honestly think if Gillian Flynn had written the screenplay like she did with Gone Girl this movie would've been a hell of a lot better.
