How can people enjoy this

I agree, this is not a good movie nor a bad one. I wouldn´t even say this is a horror movie, it feels more like a thriller.
I believe the people that created Oculus were fully aware of the cliches in the story, you know, lovely family (dog included) moving to a new house, strange things happen, etc. But the problem is that nothing happens on the first part of the movie, probably the creators were trying to move away from those cliches but did not make it interesting.
Besides some clever things they made, the movie is boring for the most part.

I liked it, after watching it last night. It definitely creeped me out. I wasn't very into it until the scene where the siblings watched themselves on video turning the cameras while arguing, without remembering doing it. That got to me, and other moments that did the same thing for me were the scene in which adult Tim is outside on the phone, but realizes he never went outside at all, and also when Kaylie finds herself standing under the arc of the anchor, proof that her plan to save her life by tricking the mirror won't work, and she's doomed at that point. The "sphere of influence" being a measurable thing and the effects of the mirror taking on almost a mood were pretty interesting things, too. I thought the beginning was weakly acted and filmed but once they were in the trap of the mirror it got good and eerie for me.

Opinions can be wrong, but when you have to fall back on words like "boring" or saying "nothing happens" (Really? Nothing?), you are just completely expressing a totally subjective personal opinion that means nothing to anyone else. All I can say is the movie is NOT boring and quite a bit happens. It's not a horror masterpiece, but I thought it was pretty good. It kind of reminded me of "Room 1408", a lot of J-horror, and of course Alejandro Asa's "Mirrors".

agreed! it's honestly one of the dumbest movies ever. I didn't like it. It started out scary, but just became dumber and dumber.

I would say the same thing about people who rate IT FOLLOWS so highly. Now that was a boring movie.

It was very disappointing and felt like it lacked any depth or passion. I thought the general idea was intriguing, but the execution was mediocre.
