Spoiler...I was quite enjoying it until they got to...

The Secret Base Island thing.

Don't know how long it took from then till the end of the film, but it seemed to drag on and on and on.

I guess it was 45 minutes ? Felt Looooong either way and like a completely different movie.

Shame as I didn't mind the last few minutes, but that bit before it was a real slog.

And why didn';t they tell the truth to the US and Russians? And what happened with them after the missiles?

reply

The awkward part of the whole mission was that Herakles was developed under M's direct supervision

That's why he didn't want to tell the US and Russians the whole story

That's also why he trusted Nomi more than Bond. Nomi was still a "company man." M knew that Bond would be more loyal to Felix than to MI6

(and Felix has already demonstrated in "Quantum" that he's more loyal to Bond than to the CIA)

I loved the movie right up until the boat sank.
It was okay after.
And yeah, the finale on the Island just felt try-hard from start to finish.
There were so many half baked thoughts flying around. Oh no, the little girl is loose on poison island! No worries, that's nothing. There was a lot of that kind of thing going on.

Yep , the pacing towards the end felt weird , it could of been tighter in the final act . I personally didn't like the movie as a whole anyway ,,,,so,,,,,,

I liked the fact that they included some Q gadgets. In the first chase Bond even deployed some counter measures from his car. Felt a bit like old Bond there.
After that not much in terms of gadgets.

reply

There was plenty of gadgets after that. His watch had the bio scan thing and the plane that turns into the submarine. This film had the most gadgets in the Craig era

reply

Yeah, I remember those. Good old school Bond moments.
