Craig Looks Bored Unlike Cruise

even in the recent trailer happy he is leaving the role he hates and why Bond is now second fiddle to Mission: Impossible if you continue to say Bond is Better than Mission: Impossible what are you smoking Craig wanted to be one and done

reply

I don't think he looks bored. In 'Spectre' he deffo looked bored in his performance. However in this new one he doesn't look bored. I wonder what made him get tired of the role??

reply

Director Sam Mendes of both "Skyfall" and "Spectre" always directs flat, dull movies, in my opinion. I think that spread to everyone on those two productions. I think that Craig looks back to form here. Just in time for his exit.

reply

He's probably excited that he won't have to do this crap anymore.

I eat a lot of edibles (Kiva bars for the win, mutha fucka), and definitely think that Bond films are better than the Mission Impossible franchise. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them both, but give me Bond any day. Also, I do not believe that the weed is related to my feelings on this particular matter.

reply

I agree. However 'Fallout' was better than 'Spectre' tbh

reply

I wasn’t crazy about Fallout, but loved Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation, both of which were better than Spectre and Quantum.

reply

Any Mission Impossible movie is better than Spectre and Quantum. Now, Casino... that's better than any Mission Impossible movie.

reply

I agree, for the most part. But, Christopher McQuarrie has done a great job on the past two "M:I"s and is directing the next two.

Cruise surpassed Bond in the spy genre many years ago, I would say at the very earliest with MI:1. The Bond films are still fun to watch, but can't really measure up against Cruise.

Mission: Impossible 3, and The Bourne Identity were game changers, and Bond completely changed with Casino Royale, basically fallowing trend setters and playing catch up. Bond is still fun to watch, but anyone paying attention for the last 20 years knows Bond is just copying others in style.

I give De Palma and Towne a lot of respect for the first Mission Impossible, but would say that Woo and Abrams took the franchise in a direction that almost ended it. Parts 2 and 3 are easily the worst of the bunch. As for Bourne, the first three are great, but I certainly wouldn’t say that they’re more enjoyable than 99% of Bond movies. To each their own, though.

Bond movies always copied the recent trends (Karate within TMWTGG, SciFi within Moonraker, Bourne within CR, etc.) . And then (!) integrated them into the known formula. Thats how Bond movies survived all this decades. Serving the new trends by the well known waiter :) .

At least thats how it worked until CR. With CR Bond really became nothing else then a boring clone of Bourne and stopped existing as its own franchise. Thats one of the many reasons why Craig Bond movies arent Bond movies at all. They are just boring Bourne clones.

They're both following tired formulas. Yes, great stunts and cinematography(for the most part) but now in 2020 when you see a beautiful skinny girl in a dress all alone at a rundown Jamaican bar(latest Bond trailer) it's so unlikely you roll your eyes. Even worse, the bad CGI is unforgivable in these super expensive action-adventures. They simply can't make things look real in 2020?
On a positive note I don't think Craig looks bored here, he's fit and trim plus a lot of the trailer does look full of other good actors as well.
In short, these Bond films are really good at making money, even with the tired formula they'll still get my dough.

I agree... and Cruise has been Ethan Hunt for a decade longer than Craig, plus besides acting Cruise is involved in every aspect of the movie, the crazy stunt ideas, location scouting with the producers, participating in meetings with government officials in the countries where they want to film... and is now shooting M:I 7 and 8 back-to-back... hardest working man in Hollywood.

Casino Royale and Skyfall were great movies though.

reply

He knows he is being replaced by a female Bond.

reply

Maybe he's planning to a sex change so we will get to see him (or her, this time around) playing Bond again. Nobody's get replaced, everyone is happy.

reply

I'm not fan of Tom Cruise and/or the MI series, but Cruise brings all he has to his performances. Other actors should emulate his professionalism.

reply

cruise is a crazy scientologist i cant take him seriously in any movie...
