It's coming out in April? Lolwtf?!!!!
shareJeeze, has a Bond film ever been dumped in April before? I know the summers are all blocked up now with superhero films but isn't Bond usually a Thanksgiving staple?
shareIt's been a Thanksgiving staple since GoldenEye....
shareLast summer Bond was Licence to Kill (before Goldeneye think they were all in the summer*)
*Edit - no all of Connerys were Oct-Dec (apart from YOLT in summer), OHMSS and Golden Gun were December, Never Say Never was November (all in Uk - could be different in US)
No April before
its out a week earlier in uk
shareDoes it matter???
shareIt was supposed to come out this year in November, then it got delayed to February 14, and then it got delayed yet again until April. I expect it will get delayed one more time until November 2020.
Keep in mind that filming has already been underway for a couple months now and they still don't have a completed script, and as far as we know, Craig and Malek have not shot any scenes together because of Craig's injury and Malek's other scheduled commitments which don't allow for his scenes with Craig to be rescheduled.
It's a very uninspired title and the typeface is dreadful. Better than "Skyfall" I suppose, but the bar has really been set low recently.
The word 'die' appears way too many times in this franchise.
this is the 4th 'Die' - LATD, TND, DAD, NTTD
also intriguingly each 007 (bar Connery) ended their run with a 'Kill' or a 'Die' in the title
fans have been drawing connections to it being the title of a little known 1958 Broccoli produced movie directed by the DrNo director plus also drawing connection to the current state of the world at the moment which ahs always been a thing for the franchise (i.e. no time for the eon Bond series to die in light of all the Netflix, MCU/superheroes etc... no time for Bond himself to 'die' due to all the metoo/woke stuff...and of course it probably has some correlation to the plot - no time for Craig Bond himself to die?.. but will he? )
I highly doubt this is Craig's last film. That's never actually been confirmed, and Craig himself only said that it "might be" his last one. Barbara Broccoli will happily wait 10 years or more until he's ready for his next outing. Craig has 100% control, so he will get what he wants, whether that is retirement or more films.
