Let's get real here. The next Bond is an actor who hopefully will look like he's in the prime of life for the next 10-20, so they'll want someone 35 or less. They're already having problems with Craig's age, as he's younger than Adrian Paul (51 vs. 59), but looks older and less healthy. Now Paul may look like a fantastically hip and fit mature man, but they really do want to keep the next Bond actor for the next 10, 15, or 20 years, and get a film out of him every few years. That would make Paul 70 or 80 by the time he does his last film!
So he may be awesome, but he's not getting that particular job. My personal choice is Adrian Turner, who is charismatic and dangerous, although in a feral and slightly androgynous way that makes him very different than Craig. He's 42, which is probably a little older than they're looking, but they'll probably go for an unknown.
