Ending ruined the movie for me

You sit for four total hours hoping for some salvation from all the whoring that went on. Looking for one person to provide some sort of redeeming quality. Then BAM! All that build up? All that articulate and empathetic dialogue clearly displaying his understanding of her personal anguish, trial, and tribulation? All that out the door in mere seconds. It's okay to be let down by a character or for a movie to have a twist, but this ending was a bit too much. Can the directer be any more cynical of the male gender?

I'm sorry to say, but you're clearly misguided if you are looking for redeeming qualities in a von Trier film. He's cynical of every gender (have you seen Antichrist?), at least with regard to human beings.

The Anti-Christ...more misogynistic twaddle from this director. I would love it if it were possible for Von Trier to get his mind off how horrid he thinks the vagina is and how poor poor men are constantly victimized by females. He must have the worst love life of any director I can think of. All his insecurities and fears seem to be directed at women. He needs massive amounts of therapy. If he's receiving it now, he's being ripped off.
